This amendment A2 modifies the European Standard EN 55022:2006; it was approved by CENELEC on
2010-12-01. CENELEC members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which
stipulate the conditions for giving this amendment the status of a national standard without any alteration.
Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references concerning such national standards may be obtained on application
to the Central Secretariat or to any CENELEC member.
This amendment exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language made
by translation under the responsibility of a CENELEC member into its own language and notified to the Central
Secretariat has the same status as the official versions.
CENELEC members are the national electrotechnical committees of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus,
the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy,

Foreword
The text of amendment 2:2006 to the International Standard IEC 55022:2005, prepared by
CISPR SC I, Electromagnetic compatibility of information technology equipment, multimedia
equipment and receivers, together with the common modifications prepared by the Technical
Committee CENELEC TC 210, Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), was submitted to the
CENELEC Unique Acceptance Procedure and was approved by CENELEC as amendment A2 to
EN 55022:2006 on 2010-12-01.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN and CENELEC shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent
rights.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the amendment has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
national standard or by endorsement (dop) 2011-12-01
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
with the amendment have to be withdrawn (dow) 2013-12-01
CLC/TC 210 notes:
• These common modifications towards CISPR 22:2005/A2:2006 have been developed for
consistency with EN 55022:2006. Some parts of CISPR 22:2005/A2:2006 adopt the common
modifications from the previous EN, and some are in conflict with existing common modifications in
EN 55022:2006.
Because of the complexity, a colour code has been used to show the changes needed towards
CISPR 22:2005/A2:2006:
Red Text to be removed by common modifications (already implemented in EN 55022:2006,
or conflicting common modification in EN 55022:2006)
Blue Text to be added
Plum Editorial corrections for consistency with EN 55022:2006
Where not mentioned, existing common modifications are to be retained.
• CLC/TC 210 decided to incorporate the equivalent of the amendment to 9.5.2 of the CISPR version:
“In case of dispute, tests shall be carried out as originally performed”. Subsequently, the EMC
Consultant has pointed out that this statement is not in accordance with CENELEC Guide 24.
Furthermore, it seems that the existing common modification deals with the matter. The CISPR
amendment has therefore not been incorporated.

8 General measurement conditions
8.2 General arrangement
In the second paragraph on page 29, replace the second sentence by the following text:
The number of additional cables or wires of the same type should be limited to the condition where the
addition of another cable or wire does not significantly affect the emission level, i.e. varies less than 2 dB,
provided that the EUT remains compliant.
In the eighth paragraph, replace the second sentence by the following text:
The number of additional boards or plug-in cards of the same type should be limited to the condition
where the addition of another board or plug-in card does not significantly affect the emission level, i.e.
varies less than 2 dB, provided that the EUT remains compliant.
8.3.2 Floor-standing arrangement
In the second and third paragraphs, replace "12 mm" by "15 cm".
8.4 Operation of the EUT
Add the following new paragraph before the first paragraph:
The operational conditions of the EUT shall be determined by the manufacturer according to the typical
use of the EUT with respect to the expected highest level of emission. The determined operational mode
and the rationale for the conditions shall be stated in the test report.
Delete subclauses 8.4.1, 8.4.2 and 8.4.3 and renumber subclause 8.4.4 as 8.4.1.
