Industrial systems, installations and equipment and industrial products - Designation of signals - Part 1: Basic rules

IEC 61175-1:2015 provides rules for the composition of designations for the identification of signals and signal connections. This includes the designation of power supply. This part of IEC 61175 is applicable to all types of signals within an industrial system, installation and equipment and industrial products. It deals with the information aspect of signals and not with their physical implementation. This first edition cancels and replaces the second edition of IEC 61175 published in 2005 and constitutes a technical revision. It includes the following changes: an improved description of the principles for use and a strict separation between the physical aspect of a signal and its associated information, focusing on the latter.
It has the status of a horizontal standard in accordance with IEC Guide 108.

L'IEC 61175-1:2015 établit des règles pour la composition des désignations pour l'identification des signaux et des connexions de signaux. Elle intègre la désignation de l'alimentation électrique. Elle est applicable à tous les types de signaux au sein d'un système, d'une installation et d'un appareil, et de produits industriels. Elle traite l'aspect information des signaux et non leur mise en uvre physique. Cette première édition annule et remplace la deuxième édition de l'IEC 61175 parue en 2005 et constitue une révision technique. Cette édition inclut les modifications suivantes: une description améliorée des principes d'utilisation et une séparation stricte entre l'aspect physique d'un signal et les informations associées relatives à ce dernier.
Elle a le statut de norme horizontale conformément au Guide IEC 108.

IEC 61869-14:2018 provides all requirements specific to current transformers to be used in DC applications (DCCTs), whatever the technology used. The output signal can be analogue or digital.
It is applicable to newly manufactured current transformers used for measuring, protection and/or control applications in DC power systems with a rated voltage above 1,5 kV.
The general configuration of a single-pole low-power instrument transformer is described in Figure 601 of IEC 61869-6:2016.
The DCCTs intended for current measurement in the transistor branch of the VSC valve (referred to as CT4a and CT4b in Figure 1403 and Table 1402) are not covered by this document, and will be considered in a future revision.
IEC 61869-14:2018 applies to current transformers intended to be used in DC applications with at least one of the following functions:
• measure DC current (with significant harmonics);
• withstand DC voltage.
Depending on the position on the DC system, different kinds of application exist, which are briefly described below, together with the approximate voltage or current wave shape.

Electric vehicle conductive charging system - Part 24: Digital communication between a DC EV supply equipment and an electric vehicle for control of DC charging

IEC 61851-24:2023, together with IEC 61851-23, applies to digital communication between a DC EV supply equipment and an electric road vehicle (EV) for control of conductive DC power transfer, with a rated supply voltage up to 1 000 V AC or up to 1 500 V DC and a rated output voltage up to 1 500 V DC.
This document also applies to digital communication between the DC EV charging/discharging station and the EV for system A, as specified in Annex A.
The EV charging mode is mode 4, according to IEC 61851-23.
Annex A, Annex B, and Annex C give descriptions of digital communications for control of DC charging specific to DC EV charging systems A, B and C as defined in IEC 61851-23.
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2014. This edition constitutes a technical revision.
This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:

Electric vehicle conductive charging system - Part 23: DC electric vehicle supply equipment

IEC 61851-23:2023 applies to the EV supply equipment to provide energy transfer between the supply network and electric vehicles (EVs), with a rated maximum voltage at side A of up to 1 000 V AC or up to 1 500 V DC and a rated maximum voltage at side B up to 1 500 V DC.
This document specifies the EV supply equipment of system A, system B and system C as defined in Annex AA, Annex BB and Annex CC. Other systems are under consideration.
This document provides the requirements for bidirectional power transfer (BPT) EV supply equipment for system A, with a rated maximum voltage at side A up to 1 000 V AC or 1 500 V DC. The requirements for reverse power transfer (RPT) and BPT for system B and system C are under consideration and are not specified in this document.
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2014. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) the structure has been rearranged according to IEC 61851-1:2017;
b) electrical safety requirements in Clause 8 and Clause 12 have been revised based on the requirements in IEC 62477-1 and inspired by the hazard based safety approach of IEC 62368-1;
c) test methods for checking conformity to the stated requirements have been mostly added; general provisions for compliance tests have been specified in Clause 102;
d) specific requirements and/or information for the following functions have been added: energy transfer with thermal management system (101.2), bi-directional power transfer control (Annex DD), multi- side B separated EV supply equipment (Annex FF), and communication and energy transfer process (Annex GG);
e) Annex AA (system A), Annex BB (system B) and Annex CC (system C) have been updated including additions in conjunction with b) and c). This document has been limited to be applicable to system A, system B and system C;
f) the former Annex DD and Annex EE have been deleted. A new Annex EE, with the requirements for the artificial test load, has been added.

IEC 60228:2023 specifies the nominal cross-sectional areas, in the range 0,5 mm2 to 3 500 mm2, for conductors in electric power cables and cords of a wide range of types. Requirements for numbers and sizes of wires and resistance values are also included. These conductors include solid, stranded and Milliken, copper, aluminium and aluminium alloy conductors in cables for fixed installations and flexible copper conductors. This document does not apply to conductors for telecommunication purposes. The applicability of this document to a particular type of cable is as specified in the standard for the type of cable. Unless specified otherwise in a particular clause, IEC 60028 ED4 relates to the conductors in the finished cable and not to the conductor as made or supplied for inclusion into a cable. Conductors described in this document are specified in metric sizes. Informative annexes provide supplementary information covering temperature correction factors for resistance measurement (Annex B) and guidance on dimensional limits of circular conductors (Annex C). This allows meter data originating from different sources to be identified. While this document fully defines the structure of the identification system for other media, the mapping of non-electrical energy related data items to ID codes is completed separately
This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition of IEC 62056-6-1, published in 2017. This edition constitutes a technical revision. The main technical changes with respect to the previous edition are listed in Annex B (informative).

- persons (including children) whose physical, sensory or mental capabilities; or lack of experience and knowledge prevents them from using the appliance safely without supervision or instruction;

- for appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements can be necessary;
- in many countries, additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour and similar authorities.

- luminaires for aquariums (IEC 60598-2-11);
- luminaires for swimming pools and similar applications (IEC 60598-2-18);

This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2010, Amendment 1:2013 and Amendment 2:2016. This edition constitutes a technical revision.
This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) alignment with IEC 60335-1:2020;
b) modification or conversion of some notes to normative text (Clause 1, 6.2, 22.102);

- children playing with the appliance.

- appliances intended exclusively for industrial purposes;
- appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas).
This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2002, Amendment 1:2004 and Amendment 2:2008. This edition constitutes a technical revision.
This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) alignment with IEC 60335-1:2020;
b) additional requirements for a humidifier shaped or decorated like a toy (7.12, 8.1.1, 21.101, 22.12, 22.44, 22.54, 22.105);
c) additional requirements are included for the temperature of accessible surfaces (11.8);
d) application of test probes 18 and 19 has been introduced (Clause 8, 20.2, B.22.3, B.22.4);
e) additional guidance is provided for humidifiers for remote operation.
This part 2 is to be used in conjunction with the latest edition of IEC 60335-1 and its amendments unless that edition precludes it; in that case, the latest edition that does not preclude it is used. It was established on the basis of the sixth edition (2020) of that standard.
