BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 1542, Nomenclature of terms used in the benzole industry-Part I, was drawn
up by Technical Committee ISO/TC 78, Aromatic hydrocarbons, the Secretariat of which is held by the British
Standards Institution (BSI).
Work on this question led to the adoption of Draft IS0 Recommendation No. 1542, which was circulated
to all the IS0 Member Bodies for enquiry in March 1969. It was approved, subject to a few modifications of an
editorial nature, by the following Member Bodies :

This Draft IS0 Recommendation was then submitted by correspondence to the IS0 Council, which decided
to accept it as an IS0 RECOMMENDATION.

La Recommandation ISO/R 1542, Nomenclature des termes employés dans l’industrie du benzol - Première
partie, a été élaborée par le Comité Technique ISO/TC 78, Hydrocarbures aromatiques, dont le Secrétariat est
assuré par la British Standards Institution (BSI).
Les travaux relatifs à cette question aboutirent à l’adoption du Projet de Recommandation IS0 NO 1542,
qui fut soumis, en mars 1969, à l’enquête de tous les Comités Membres de I’ISO. I1 fut approuvé, sous réserve
de quelques modifications d’ordre rédactionnel, par les Comités Membres suivants:
