The IS0 Recommendation R 1998, Definitions of terms used in the petroleum industry-First list of terms,
was drawn up by Technical Committee ISO/TC 28, Petroleum products, the Secretariat of which is held by the
American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
Work on this question led to the adoption of Draft IS0 Recommendation No. 1998, which was circulated
to all the IS0 Member Bodies for enquiry in June 1970. It was approved, subject to a few modifications of an
editorial nature, by the following Member Bodies :

Les travaux relatifs à cette question aboutirent à l'adoption du Projet de Recommandation IS0 No 1998 qui
fut soumis, en juin 1970, à l'enquête de tous les Comités Membres de I'ISO. I1 fut approuvé, sous réserve de
