BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 63, Lengths of Flat Transmission Belts,
was drawn up by Technical Committee ISO/TC 41, Pulleys and Belts
(including V-Belts), the Secretariat of which is held by the Association Fran-
çaise de Normalisation (AFNOR).
It was at its meeting in Stockholm, in June 1955, that the Technical
Committee adopted, unanimously by the delegations present, the resolutions
on which this Recommendation is based.
After the Stockholm meeting, a draft proposal was submitted to the
members of Technical Committee ISO/TC 41. No comments having been
received, the draft proposal was sent to the General Secretariat which placed
it before all the IS0 Member Bodies, as a Draft IS0 Recommendation.

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISO/R 63, Longueurs des courroies plates de trans-
a été élaborée par le Comité Technique ISO/TC 41, Poulies et cour-
mission,

l’Association Française de Normalisation (AFNOR).
C’est au cours de sa réunion de Stockholm, en juin 1955, que le Comité
Technique a adopté, à l’unanimité des délégations présentes, les résolutions
ayant servi de base à la présente Recommandation.
A l’issue de la réunion de Stockholm, un avant-projet fut soumis aux
membres du Comité Technique ISO/TC 41. N’ayant été l’objet d’aucune
observation, l’avant-projet fut transmis au Secrétariat Général qui le diffusa
auprès de tous les Comités Membres de l’IS0, comme Projet de Recommanda-
tion ISO.
Le Projet a été approuvé sans réserve par les Comités Membres suivants,
au nombre de 23 sur un total de 38:
