BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 103511, Dimensions of hot-rolled steel bars - Round bars - Metric series, was
drawn up by Technical Committee ISO/TC 17, Steel, the Secretariat of which is held by the British Standards
Institution (BSI).
Work on this question led, in 1967, to the adoption of a Draft IS0 Recommendation.
In January 1968, this Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 1368) was circulated to all the IS0 Member Bodies for
enquiry. It was approved, subject to a few modifications of an editorial nature, by the following Member Bodies :

METRIC SERIES
The dimensions of the metric series are given in Table 1 .* Inch equivalents of the metric dimensions are given
for convenience of reference in Table 2.
Tolerances on the dimensions specified in Table 1 are covered by IS0 Recommendation R 1035/IV (in course of preparation).

La présente Recoinmandation IS0 donne les dimensions des barres rondes en acier laminées à chaud, série
métrique.
2. DIMENSIONS
Les dimensions dans la série métrique sont donnée dans le Tableau 1 *. Afin de faciliter la lecture de cette Recom-
mandation ISO, les valeurs correspondantes en inches sont données dans le Tableau 2.
