EN 12421:2017 is the CEN (European) standard that defines grades and requirements for cast unalloyed magnesium. It specifies the chemical composition, material designation, testing, marking and inspection documentation for cast unalloyed magnesium products. The standard classifies cast unalloyed magnesium into standardized grades (e.g., EN‑MB99,5 … EN‑MB99,99) and introduces a numerical designation system (material numbers 3.5201–3.5209) aligned with EN 1754 and EN 10027‑2.
