Overview

EN ISO 3582:2000/A1:2007 (CEN) specifies a laboratory method for assessing the horizontal burning characteristics of small specimens of flexible cellular polymeric materials (soft polymeric foams) when subjected to a small flame. Amendment 1 (2007) updates the original ISO 3582:2000 text and clarifies conditioning and testing time requirements. The standard is used to evaluate ignitability and burning behaviour of cellular polymeric materials in a controlled horizontal test configuration.

Foreword
This document (EN ISO 3582:2000/A1:2007) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 45 "Rubber
and rubber products" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 249 "Plastics", the secretariat of
which is held by NBN.
This Amendment to the European Standard EN ISO 3582:2000 shall be given the status of a national
standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2008, and
conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by March 2008.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following
