This product standard applies to wireless communication devices used in close proximity to the human ear (e.g. mobile phones, wireless headsets). The applicable frequency range is from 300 MHz to 6 GHz.
The objective of this standard is to demonstrate the compliance of such devices with the basic restrictions and exposure limit values related to human exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic fields.
For devices used next to the body or in front of the face the applicable product standard is EN 50566:2017.
For low power devices the applicable product standard is EN 50663:2017.

La présente norme de produit s’applique aux dispositifs de communication sans fil utilisés très près de l'oreille (par exemple, téléphones mobiles, casques sans fil). La plage de fréquences applicable s'étend de 300 MHz à 6 GHz.
La présente norme a pour objet de démontrer la conformité des dispositifs concernés aux restrictions de base et aux valeurs limites d'exposition relatives à l'exposition des personnes aux champs électromagnétiques radiofréquences.
La norme de produit applicable aux dispositifs utilisés près du corps humain ou devant le visage est l'EN 50566:2017.
La norme de produit applicable aux dispositifs de faible puissance est l'EN 50663:2017.

The standard specifies the assessment scope, measurement and evaluation requirements, and documentation needed to show conformity with health‑protection limits (based on Specific Absorption Rate - SAR).
