Analytical colorimetry - Part 1: Practical colour measurement (ISO 18314-1:2015)

ISO 18314-1:2015 specifies the method for determining the colour coordinates of a paint film. This method is only applicable to paint films that appear to be uniformly of one colour, i.e. monochromatic, when examined with normal vision. Paint films that do not completely hide a non-transparent substrate represent an opaque system and can be measured by using the procedure in this part of ISO 18314.
Luminescent paint films, transparent paint films, and translucent paint films (for example for display or lamp glass), retroreflecting paint films (for example for traffic signs), and metallic paint films are outside the scope of this part of ISO 18314.

La présente partie de l'ISO 18314 spécifie la méthode de détermination des coordonnées colorimétriques d'un feuil de peinture. Cette méthode n'est applicable qu'aux feuils de peinture dont la couleur semble uniforme à l'œil nu, c'est-à-dire aux feuils de peinture monochromatiques. Les feuils de peinture dont le pouvoir couvrant n'est pas suffisant pour masquer complètement un subjectile non transparent constituent un système opaque et peuvent être analysés en utilisant la méthode spécifiée dans la présente partie de l'ISO 18314.
Les feuils de peinture luminescents, transparents et translucides (par exemple, ceux sur un écran ou un verre d'ampoule), les feuils de peinture rétroréfléchissants (par exemple, ceux sur les panneaux de signalisation routière), ainsi que les feuils de peinture métalliques ne sont pas couverts par le domaine d'application de la présente partie de l'ISO 18314.

Barvne plasti, ki neprosojne podlage ne prikrivajo povsem, predstavljajo prosojen sistem in jih je mogoče izmeriti z uporabo postopka v tem delu standarda ISO 18314.

The text of ISO 18314-1:2015 has been prepared by Technical Committee 256 "Pigments, dyestuffs and

extenders” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as

EN ISO 18314-1:2018 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 298 “Pigments and extenders” the secretariat of

which is held by DIN.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an

identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2019, and conflicting national standards shall be

withdrawn at the latest by April 2019.

Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of

patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.

According to the CEN-CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the
