Kinematic diagrams - Graphical symbols - Part 1 (ISO 3952-1:1981)

This International Standard establishes the graphical symbols for elements of kinematic diagrams of products in all branches of industry. Its purpose is to simplify the preparation of such diagrams and facilitate their execution and understanding by specialists of different countries. The symbols established by this International Standard are to be used on diagrams in technical documentation, as well as in technical and educational literature.

La présente Norme Internationale spécifie les symboles graphiques pour les éléments de schémas cinématiques, englobant les produits de toutes les branches de l'industrie. Son but est de faciliter la réalisation de tels schémas et leur compréhension par les spécialistes des différents pays. Il faut employer les symboles spécifiés a l'exécution des schémas de la documentation technique, ainsi que dans la littérature technique et éducative.

ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national
Standards institutes (ISO member bodies). The work of developing International Standards is car-
ried out through ISO technical committees. Every member body interested in a subject for which
a technical committee has been set up has the right to be represented on that committee. Interna-
tional organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in
the work.
Draft Inter national Standar .ds adopted by the technical committees are circ ulated to the member
bodies for approval before their acceptance as International Standards by the IS 0 Council.
