Quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials - Part 1: Criteria for the selection of the appropriate level of quality requirements (ISO 3834-1:2021)

This document specifies a general outline of the ISO 3834 series and criteria to be taken into account for the selection of the appropriate level of quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials, among the three levels specified in ISO 3834-2, ISO 3834-3 and ISO 3834-4.
It is applicable to manufacturing, both in workshops and at field installation sites.
This document does not specify requirements for a total quality management system (QMS). However, Clause 6 identifies QMS elements where their inclusion complements the ISO 3834 series.

Dieses Dokument enthält die allgemeine Auslegung der Normenreihe ISO 3834 und die zu beachtenden Kriterien für die Auswahl der geeigneten Stufe der Qualitätsanforderungen für das Schmelzschweißen von metallischen Werkstoffen aus den drei festgelegten Stufen in ISO 3834-2, ISO 3834-3 und ISO 3834-4.
Es ist anzuwenden für die Herstellung, sowohl in Werkstätten als auch auf Baustellen.
Dieses Dokument legt keine Anforderungen für ein gesamtes Qualitätsmanagementsystem fest. Aber Abschnitt 6 enthält Elemente eines Qualitätsmanagementsystems, deren Einschluss ISO 3834 ergänzt.

Le présent document fournit un aperçu général de série ISO 3834 et les critères à prendre en compte pour la sélection d'un niveau approprié d'exigences de qualité en soudage par fusion des matériaux métalliques, parmi les trois niveaux spécifiés dans l'ISO 3834-2, l'ISO 3834-3 et l'ISO 3834-4.
Il est applicable pour la fabrication aussi bien en atelier que sur les sites de montage.
Le présent document ne spécifie pas d'exigences relatives à un système complet de management de la qualité (SMQ). Cependant, l'Article 6 identifie les éléments d'un SMQ dont la prise en compte vient compléter l'ISO 3834.

This document (EN ISO 3834-1:2021) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 44 "Welding
and allied processes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 121 “Welding and allied
processes” the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2022, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by March 2022.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 3834-1:2005.
