Adhesives for load-bearing timber structures - Test methods - Part 1: Determination of bond strength in longitudinal tensile shear

This part of EN 302 describes a method of determining the strength in longitudinal shear of adhesive bonds between lap joint test pieces made of beech (fagus sylvatica). It is suitable for the following applications: a) for assessing the compliance of adhesives with EN 301; b) for assessing the suitability and quality of adhesives for load-bearing timber structures; c) for comparing the strengths of bond with thin or thick gluelines.

Dieser Teil von EN 302 beschreibt ein Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Längs-Scherfestigkeit von Klebstoffverbindungen an überlappten Prüfkörpern aus Buche (Fagus silvatica). Er ist für folgende Anwendungsfälle geeignet: a) Zuordnung des Klebstoffs zu einem der in EN 301 angegebenen Klebstofftypen; b) Feststellung der Eignung und der Qualität von Klebstoffen für tragende Holzbauteile; c) Zum Vergleich der Klebefestigkeiten bei dünnen und dicken Klebstoffugen.

Cette partie de la norme EN 302 décrit une méthode d'évaluation de la résistance en cisaillement par traction longitudinale de joints d'adhésif réalisés sur éprouvettes en hêtre (fagus silvatica) à recouvrement. Elle a pour but: a) de garantir la conformité d'un adhésif avec EN 301; b) de démontrer l'adéquation et la qualité d'adhésifs pour structures portantes en bois; c) de comparer les résistances de joints mince et épais.

Such an adhesive meeting the requirements of this document for its type is adequate for use in load-bearing timber products, provided that the bonding process has been carried out according to an appropriate product standard.

This document does not address the classification and use of adhesives in combination with the spraying of water before or during the bonding process; see informative Annex C of this document.
This does neither allow nor forbid the use of adhesives in combination with the spraying of water.
