Plastics - Symbols and abbreviated terms - Part 1: Basic polymers and their special characteristics (ISO 1043-1:2011)

ISO 1043-1:2011 defines abbreviated terms for the basic polymers used in plastics, symbols for components of these terms, and symbols for special characteristics of plastics. It includes only those abbreviated terms that have come into established use and its aim is both to prevent the occurrence of more than one abbreviated term for a given plastic and to prevent a given abbreviated term being interpreted in more than one way.
Guidance for the preparation of new abbreviated terms, reference lists of symbols for the components of plastics terms used to form the abbreviated terms for plastics, and a classification of abbreviated terms for polymers grouped by type are given in annexes.

Kunststoffe - Kennbuchstaben und Kurzzeichen - Teil 1: Basis-Polymere und ihre besonderen Eigenschaften (ISO 1043-1:2011)

Dieser Teil von ISO 1043 enthält einheitliche Kurzzeichen für Kunststoffe und Kennbuchstaben für den Aufbau dieser Kurzzeichen, wie auch Kennbuchstaben zur Kennzeichnung besonderer Eigenschaften der Kunststoffe. Er enthält nur solche Kurzzeichen, welche in unzweifelhaftem Gebrauch sind mit dem Ziel, sowohl das Auftreten von mehr als einem Kurzzeichen für einen bestehenden Kunststoffnamen als auch die mehrdeutige Interpretation eines Kurzzeichens zu verhüten.
ANMERKUNG 1   Für Kennbuchstaben und Kurzzeichen von Füll- und Verstärkungsstoffen siehe ISO 1043 2, für Weichmacher siehe ISO 1043 3 und für Flammschutzmittel siehe ISO 1043 4. Die Nomenklatur für Kautschuke und Latices ist festgelegt in ISO 1629. Die Nomenklatur für Thermoplastische Elastomere ist gegeben in ISO 18064.
ANMERKUNG 2   Eine Anleitung zur Erstellung von neuen Kurzzeichen steht im Anhang A und eine Referenzliste von Kennbuchstaben für die Bestandteile von Kunststoffen, die zur Bildung von Kurzzeichen gebraucht werden, ist im Anhang B zu finden.
ANMERKUNG 3   Eine Klassifizierung von Kurzzeichen für Polymere nach Art ist im Anhang C enthalten.

Plastiques - Symboles et termes abrégés - Partie 1: Polymères de base et leurs caractéristiques spéciales (ISO 1043-1:2011)

L'ISO 1043-1:2011 définit des termes abrégés pour désigner les polymères de base utilisés dans les plastiques, des symboles correspondant aux composants de ces termes, ainsi que des symboles indiquant les caractéristiques spéciales des plastiques. Elle ne comprend que les termes abrégés dont l'usage est consacré et son but est double: prévenir l'apparition de plusieurs termes abrégés pour un plastique donné et empêcher qu'un terme abrégé donné ne soit interprété de plusieurs façons différentes.
Des indications relatives à l'établissement de nouveaux termes abrégés, des listes de référence des symboles pour les composants des termes désignant des plastiques utilisés pour former les termes abrégés pour les plastiques et une classification des termes abrégés des polymères regroupés par type sont données en annexes.

Ta del standarda ISO 1043 opredeljuje kratice za osnovne polimere, ki se uporabljajo za izdelavo polimernih materialov, simbole za sestavne dele teh kratic in simbole za posebne značilnosti polimernih materialov. Zajema le tiste kratice, ki se splošno uporabljajo, pri čemer je cilj standarda preprečiti pojav več kot ene kratice za posamezen polimerni material in pojav več pomenov za posamezno kratico.

This document (EN ISO 1043-1:2011) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 61 "Plastics" in
collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 249 “Plastics” the secretariat of which is held by NBN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2012, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the
latest by May 2012.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
