This document specifies the design, minimum safety, functional and marking requirements, as well as the interface types and dimensions and testing procedures for dry-disconnect/connect couplings for LNG hose bunkering systems intended for use on LNG bunkering ships, tank trucks and shore-based facilities and other bunkering infrastructures. It is not applicable to hydraulically operated quick connect/disconnect couplers (QCDC) used for hard loading arms, which is covered in ISO 16904.
Based on the technology used in industrial manufacturing at the time of development of this document, it is applicable to sizes of couplings ranging from DN 25 to DN 200.

Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen für Konstruktion, minimale Sicherheit, für Funktion und Kennzeichnung, sowie Schnittstellentypen und Maße und Prüfverfahren für LNG Trockenkupplungen fest, die LNG Schlauchbunkersystemen dienen und für LNG Bunkerschiffe, Tanklastwagen und land-basierte Anlagen und andere Bunkerinfrastrukturen bestimmt sind. Es ist nicht anwendbar auf hydraulisch betätigte Schnellkupplungen (QCDC, en: Quick Connect/Disconnect Coupler), die für feste Verladearme Verwendung finden und in ISO 16904 abgedeckt sind.

Ce document spécifie les exigences de conception, de sécurité minimale, de fonctionnement et de marquage, ainsi que les types et dimensions d'interface et les procédures d'essai applicables au couplage de connexion/déconnexion à sec de GNL utilisé pour un système de soutage de GNL par flexible, destiné à être utilisé sur un navire de soutage de GNL, un camion-citerne, une installation terrestre et les autres infrastructures de soutage. Il ne s'applique pas aux coupleurs de connexion et de déconnexion rapide à commande hydraulique (QCDC) utilisés pour un bras de chargement rigide, lesquels sont couverts par l'ISO 16904.

Ta tehnični standard določa zahteve glede projektiranja, minimalne varnosti, delovanja in označevanja ter tudi vrste vmesnikov in mere ter preskusne postopke za suhe spoje za priklop in odklop pri cevnih sistemih za polnjenje utekočinjenega zemeljskega plina (LNG), namenjenih za uporabo na plovilih na utekočinjeni zemeljski plin, tovornjakih s cisternami ter priobalnih sistemih in drugih infrastrukturah za polnjenje. Ne uporablja se za hidravlično upravljane hitre spojke (QCDC), ki se uporabljajo za trdne prenosne roke, obravnavane v standardu ISO 16904. Na podlagi tehnologije, uporabljane pri industrijski proizvodnji v času priprave tega dokumenta, se uporablja za vse velikosti spojk od DN 25 do DN 200.

This document (EN ISO 21593:2019) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 8 "Ships and
marine technology" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 282 “Installation and
equipment for LNG” the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2020, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by March 2020.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the

Cathodic protection of harbour installations (ISO 13174:2012)

ISO 13174:2012 defines the means to be used to ensure that cathodic protection is efficiently applied to the immersed and driven/buried metallic external surfaces of steel port, harbour, coastal and flood defence installations and appurtenances in seawater and saline mud to provide protection from corrosion.
ISO 13174:2012 specifies cathodic protection of fixed and floating port and harbour structures. This includes piers, jetties, dolphins (mooring and berthing), sheet or tubular piling, pontoons, buoys, floating docks, lock and sluice gates. It also specifies cathodic protection of the submerged areas of appurtenances, such as chains attached to the structure, when these are not electrically isolated from the structure.
ISO 13174:2012 is to be used in respect of cathodic protection systems where the anodes are exposed to water or saline mud. For buried areas, typically in soil or sand filled areas behind piled walls or within filled caissons, which may be significantly affected by corrosion, specific cathodic protection design and operation requirements are defined in EN 12954, the anodes being exposed to soils.
ISO 13174:2012 does not cover the cathodic protection of fixed or floating offshore structures (including offshore loading buoys), submarine pipelines or ships.
ISO 13174:2012 does not include the internal protection of surfaces of any components such as ballast tanks, internals of floating structures flooded compartments of lock and sluice gates or the internals of tubular steel piles.
ISO 13174:2012 covers the cathodic protection of structures fabricated principally from bare or coated carbon and carbon manganese steels.
As some parts of the structure may be made of metallic materials other than carbon steels, the cathodic protection system should be designed to ensure that there is a complete control over any galvanic coupling and minimize risks due to hydrogen embrittlement or hydrogen-induced cracking (see ISO 12473 ).
ISO 13174:2012 does not address steel reinforced concrete structures (see EN 12696).
ISO 13174:2012 is applicable to the whole submerged zone in seawater, brackish waters and saline mud and related buried areas which can normally be found in port, harbour, coastal and flood defence installations wherever these structures are fixed or floating.
For surfaces which are alternately immersed and exposed to the atmosphere, the cathodic protection is only effective when the immersion time is long enough for the steel to become polarized. Typically, effective cathodic protection is achieved for all surfaces below mid tide.
For structures such as sheet steel and tubular steel piles that are driven into the sea bed or those that are partially buried or covered in mud, ISO 13174:2012 is also applicable to the surfaces buried, driven and exposed to mud which are intended to receive cathodic protection along with surfaces immersed in water.
Cathodic protection may also be applied to the rear faces of sheet steel piled walls and the internal surfaces of filled caissons. Cathodic protection of such surfaces is specified by EN 12954.

This document specifies design, type test methods, marking and instruction requirements for cylinder valves with integrated pressure regulators (VIPRs) intended to be fitted to gas cylinders, pressure drums or tubes or used as a main valve for bundles of cylinders that convey compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases.
These are requirements for VIPRs that are in addition to those given in the relevant closure standard, for example, in ISO 10297 for cylinder valves, in ISO 17871 for quick-release cylinder valves, in ISO 17879 for self-closing cylinder valves or in ISO 23826 for ball valves. For ISO 17871, these requirements are only applicable to quick-release cylinder valves types B, C, D and E.
NOTE 1        If the pressure regulating system of a VIPR is acting as the primary valve operating mechanism, it is covered by the relevant closure standard, e.g. ISO 10297, ISO 17871, ISO 17879 and ISO 23826. This also includes designs where closure of the primary valve operating mechanism of a VIPR is obtained by closing the seat of the pressure regulating system.
NOTE 2        If the primary valve operating mechanism of a VIPR is located at the low-pressure side of the pressure regulating system, it is covered by the relevant closure standard, e.g. ISO 10297, ISO 17871, ISO 17879 and ISO 23826.
NOTE 3        The term “pressure receptacle” is used within this document to cover instances where no differentiation is necessary between gas cylinders, bundles of cylinders, pressure drums and tubes.
This document does not apply to VIPRs for
a)       medical applications (see ISO 10524-3);
b)       liquefied petroleum gas (LPG);
c)        cryogenic applications.
NOTE 4        Additional requirements for a VIPR with a residual pressure device (RPD) are specified in ISO 15996.
NOTE 5        Additional requirements for pressure relief valves can exist in international/regional regulations/ standards.
