This European Standard specifies safety requirements and testing for design and construction of, pedestrian controlled tractors with mounted rotary cultivators with the cultivator rotating axis horizontal and perpendicular to the direction of motion of the machine, motor hoes and motor hoes with drive wheel(s), all as used in agriculture, forestry, landscaping and gardening (including amenity use).
It describes methods for the elimination or reduction of risks arising from their use. In addition, it specifies the type of information to be provided by the manufacturer on safe working practices.
This European Standard does not cover the requirements to fulfil national road traffic regulations such as lights, steering and braking.
Environmental aspects have not been considered in this standard.
This European Standard applies primarily to machines which are manufactured after the date of issue of the standard.

Diese Europäische Norm legt sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und Prüfungen für die Gestaltung und Konstruktion von Einachstraktoren mit angebauter Fräse fest, deren Drehachse horizontal oder vertikal zur Bewegungsrichtung der Maschine angeordnet ist, sowie von Motorhacken und Triebradhacken, die in der Land- und Forstwirtschaft sowie der Landschafts- und Gartenpflege (einschließlich Freizeitbereich) eingesetzt werden. Sie beschreibt Maßnahmen zur Vermeidung oder Verminderung der sich aus dem Gebrauch ergebenden Gefährdungen. Außerdem gibt sie Informationen über sicheres Arbeiten, die vom Hersteller zur Verfügung zu stellen sind. Diese Europäische Norm enthält keine Anforderungen zur Erfüllung nationaler Straßenverkehrsvorschriften wie beispielsweise an Beleuchtung, Lenkung und Bremsen. Umweltaspekte wurden in dieser Norm nicht in Betracht gezogen. Diese Europäische Norm gilt in erster Linie für Maschinen, die nach dem Ausgabedatum der Norm hergestellt worden sind.

La présente norme européenne détermine les prescriptions de sécurité et les vérifications pour la conception et la construction des motoculteurs équipés de fraises dont l'axe de rotation est horizontal et perpendiculaire au sens d'avancement de la machine, des motobineuses et des fraises à roue(s) motrice(s), utilisés en agriculture, en foresterie, pour l'entretien des espaces verts et pour le jardinage (y compris à usage de loisir).
Elle décrit les méthodes pour éliminer ou réduire les risques inhérents à leur utilisation. En outre, elle spécifie le type d'informations que le fabricant doit donner sur les pratiques d'utilisation sûre.
La présente norme ne couvre pas les prescriptions permettant de satisfaire aux réglementations routières nationales telles que l'éclairage, le système de direction et le freinage.
