Soil quality - Determination of effective cation exchange capacity (CEC) and exchangeable cations using a hexamminecobalt trichloride solution (ISO 23470:2007)

ISO 23470:2007 specifies a method for the determination of the cation exchange capacity (CEC) and the content of exchangeable cations (Al3+, Ca2+, Fe2+, K+, Mg2+, Mn2+, Na+) in soils using a hexamminecobalt trichloride solution as extractant.
ISO 23470:2007 is applicable to all types of air-dried soil samples which have been prepared in accordance with ISO 11464.

Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Kationenaustauschkapazität (KAK) und des
Gehaltes an austauschbaren Kationen (Al3+, Ca2+, Fe2+, K+, Mg2+, Mn2+, Na+) in Böden unter Verwendung
einer Hexammincobalt-trichlorid-Lösung als Extraktionsmittel fest.
ANMERKUNG Da der pH-Wert einer Bodensuspension in der Hexammincobalt-trichlorid-Lösung in der Nähe des
pH-Wertes der Suspension in Wasser liegt, wird bei diesem Verfahren davon ausgegangen, dass es die effektive KAK,
d. h. die KAK bei dem pH-Wert des Bodens, ergibt.
Diese Internationale Norm gilt für alle Arten von lufttrockenen Bodenproben, die nach ISO 11464 vorbereitet
wurden.
Verweisungen und Ergebnisse des Vergleichs mit anderen Verfahren (Bariumchlorid, Ammoniumacetat) sind
in Anhang A angeführt.

L'ISO 23470 :2007 spécifie une méthode de détermination de la capacité d'échange cationique (CEC) et de la teneur en cations échangeables (Al3+, Ca2+, Fe2+, K+, Mg2+, Mn2+, Na+) dans le sol à l'aide d'une solution de trichlorure de cobaltihexammine utilisée comme réactif d'extraction.
L'ISO 23470 :2007 est applicable à tous les types d'échantillons de sol séchés à l'air.

ISO 23470:2007 opredeljuje metodo za določevanje kationske izmenjalne kapacitete (KIK) in izmenljivih kationov (Al3+, Ca2+, Fe2+, K+, Mg2+, Mn2+, Na+) v tleh z uporabo raztopine heksaminokobaltovega triklorida kot ekstraktanta.
ISO 23470:2007 velja za vse vrste vzorcev tal, posušenih na zraku, ki so bili pripravljeni v skladu z ISO 11464.

The text of ISO 23470:2007 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 190 “Soil quality” of the
International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 23470:2011 by
Technical Committee CEN/TC 345 “Characterization of soils” the secretariat of which is held by NEN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by December 2011, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn
at the latest by December 2011.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
