ENV 1991-2-4. If this standard does not set out any requirements, the wind pressure shall be taken in accordance with national standards and requirements; c) the wind pressure acts as a uniformly distributed load over the total slope length /* of the span and may be reduced in accordance with equation (3): β.qq=red (3) where: qred is the reduced wind pressure acting on the slope length l* of the span; β is the reduction coefficient; q is the wind pressure in accordance with (2). The reduction coefficient is determined as a function of the slope length l* of the span as follows:  for l* ≤ 200 m β = 1,0;  for l* ≥ 900 m β = 0,65;  for intermediate values of l*, β is determined by linear interpolation.

 action due to wind in accordance with 6.5.4 ; actions due to ice taken as 0,4 times the value in 6.5.5.2;  action due to ice in accordance with 6.5.5.2; action due to wind taken as 0,8 times the value in 6.5.4. 2) out of operation:  action due to wind in accordance with 6.5.4; actions due to ice taken as 0,4 times the value in 6.5.5.2;  action due to ice in accordance with 6.5.5.2; action due to wind taken as 0,6 times the value in 6.5.4. For these 2 cases "out of operation", the value of wind according to 6.5.4 can be reduced by the factor 0,65. 7.3 Tension safety factor - General For the calculation of the tension safety factor, the supplier and operator may agree to use the test breaking force in place of the minimum breaking force.

The article is about the safety requirements for cableway installations designed to carry people. Specifically, it focuses on the calculations involved in ensuring the safety of these installations. The European Standard, EN 12930:2004, outlines the requirements that need to be met when calculating the safety of passenger transportation by rope. These requirements take into account the different types of installation systems and their environment. The standard includes general requirements for conducting the calculations and presenting the results, as well as requirements for considering the various factors that may impact the safety of the components. Ultimately, these calculations serve as the basis for meeting the safety standards of the EN 12930:2004 standard.
