Electric traction - Rotating electrical machines for rail and road vehicles - Part 2: Electronic converter-fed alternating current motors

IEC 60349-2:2010 applies to converter-fed alternating current motors forming part of the equipment of electrically propelled rail and road vehicles. The object of this part is to enable the performance of a motor to be confirmed by tests and to provide a basis for assessment of its suitability for a specified duty and for comparison with other motors. The main technical changes with regard to the previous edition are as follows: - the limits valid for traction motors are now directly stated in this standard; - the methods described in the relevant ISO standards are now allowed.

La CEI 60349-2:2010 s'applique aux moteurs à courant alternatif alimentés par convertisseur qui font partie de l'équipement des véhicules ferroviaires et routiers à propulsion électrique. L'objet de cette partie est de permettre de vérifier, par des essais, les performances d'un moteur, de servir de base à l'estimation de son aptitude à assurer un service donné, et de fournir une base de comparaison avec d'autres moteurs. Les principales modifications techniques par rapport à l'édition précédente sont les suivantes: - les limites valables pour les moteurs de traction sont maintenant directement spécifiées dans cette norme; - les méthodes décrites dans les normes ISO pertinentes sont à présent autorisées.

Ta del IEC60349 velja za napajalne izmenične motorje, ki tvorijo del opreme električno gnanih železniških in cestnih vozil. Cilj tega dela standarda je omogočiti, da preskusi potrdijo zmogljivost motorjev ter da se zagotovi osnova za ocenjevanje njegove primernosti za določeno funkcijo in za primerjavo z drugimi motorji. Kjer se bodo izvedla nadaljnja preskušanja v skladu z IEC 61377-1 in IEC 61377-3, bo morda bolje, da se nekateri tipski in preiskovalni preskusi izvedejo v kombinirani preskusni napravi v izogib ponavljanju. Posebna pozornost je namenjena potrebi po sodelovanju med načrtovalci motorja in njegovega pridruženega pretvornika, kot je podrobno opisano v točki 5.1.

Foreword
The text of document 9/1416/FDIS, future edition 3 of IEC 60349-2, prepared by IEC TC 9, Electrical
equipment and systems for railways, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved
by CENELEC as EN 60349-2 on 2010-12-01.
This European Standard supersedes EN 60349-2:2001.
The main technical changes with regard to EN 60349-2:2001 are as follows:
– As the limits of vibration velocities have been changed in EN 60034-14, the limits valid for traction
motors are now directly stated in this standard.
– In addition to the existing method for measuring and calculating the sound power level, the methods
described in EN ISO 3741, EN ISO 3743 (series), EN ISO 3744, ISO 3745, EN ISO 9614 (series) are
also allowed. However the maximum sound power levels and the correction for pure tones remain
unchanged in C.7 and C.8.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN and CENELEC shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent
rights.
