Tumble dryers for household use - Methods for measuring the performance

IEC 61121:2012(E) is applicable to household electric tumble dryers of the automatic and non-automatic type, with or without a cold water supply and incorporating a heating device. This excludes tumble dryers which use gas or other fuels as a heating source. The object is to state and define the principal performance characteristics of household electric tumble dryers of interest to users and to describe standard methods for measuring these characteristics. This edition includes significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition.

Izključeni so sušilni stroji, ki kot vir segrevanja uporabljajo plin ali druga goriva. Cilj standarda je določiti in opredeliti glavne lastnosti funkcionalnosti gospodinjskih električnih sušilnih strojev, ki zanimajo uporabnike, ter opisati standardne metode za merjenje teh lastnosti.

Tolerances and control procedures
The verification tolerances are given in the relevant Annex of the COMMISSION DELEGATED REGULATION
(EU) No 392/2012 of 1 March 2012 supplementing Directive 2010/30/EU of the European Parliament and of the
Council with regard to energy labelling of household tumble dryers and of the COMMISSION REGULATION
(EU) No 932/2012 of 3 October 2012 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of
the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for household tumble dryers.
The verification of values declared by the manufacturer consists of two steps.
Step 1 requires one test series for one test tumble dryer. All values according to this European Standard are
measured and reported. The relevant tolerances for step 1 shall be applied.
Step 2 requires one test series for each of three additional test tumble dryers. All values are measured and
reported for each of the three test tumble dryers according to this European Standard. The average values of
the three test tumble dryers are calculated as the arithmetic mean of the values reported for each of the three
test tumble dryers. The relevant tolerances for step 2 shall be applied.
A schematic representation of the procedure is set out in Figure ZB.1.
