EN 60286-1:2017/A1:2021 (adopted from IEC 60286-1:2017/A1:2021) is a European amendment addressing tape packaging of electronic components with axial leads on continuous tapes for automated handling. Published May 2021 and approved by CENELEC, this amendment updates dimensional and packaging requirements to ensure reliable reeling, feeding and pick-and-place compatibility in automated assembly lines.

• Reeling/unreeling clearance: Distances W1 and W2 are governed by the overall taped-component width (Wmax) and must permit proper reeling and unreeling during automated handling.
