This part of ISO 9692 specifies recommended types of joint preparation for metal inert gas welding,
MIG (131), and tungsten inert gas welding, TIG (141), and autogenous TIG welding (142) on aluminium
and its alloys.
It applies to fully penetrated welds.

This document (EN ISO 9692-3:2016) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 44 “Welding
and allied processes” in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 121 “Welding and allied
processes” the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2017, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by January 2017.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of

This document supersedes EN ISO 9692-3:2001.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards
bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out
through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical

Dieses Dokument (EN ISO 9692-3:2016) wurde vom Technischen Komitee ISO/TC 44 „Welding and allied
processes“ in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Technischen Komitee CEN/TC 121 „Schweißen und verwandte
Verfahren“ erarbeitet, dessen Sekretariat von DIN gehalten wird.
Diese Europäische Norm muss den Status einer nationalen Norm erhalten, entweder durch Veröffentlichung eines
identischen Textes oder durch Anerkennung bis Januar 2017, und etwaige entgegenstehende nationale Normen
müssen bis Januar 2017 zurückgezogen werden.
Es wird auf die Möglichkeit hingewiesen, dass einige Elemente dieses Dokuments Patentrechte berühren können.

Vorwort
ISO (die Internationale Organisation für Normung) ist eine weltweite Vereinigung von Nationalen
Normungsorganisationen (ISO-Mitgliedsorganisationen). Die Erstellung von Internationalen Normen wird
normalerweise von ISO Technischen Komitees durchgeführt. Jede Mitgliedsorganisation, die Interesse an einem
Thema hat, für welches ein Technisches Komitee gegründet wurde, hat das Recht, in diesem Komitee vertreten zu
sein. Internationale Organisationen, staatlich und nicht-staatlich, in Liaison mit ISO, nehmen ebenfalls an der
