Alcohol interlocks - Test methods and performance requirements - Part 2: Instruments having a mouthpiece and measuring breath alcohol for general preventive use

EN 50436-2 specifies test methods and performance requirements for breath alcohol controlled alcohol interlocks having a mouthpiece. It covers alcohol interlocks intended for general preventive use. This European Standard is directed at test laboratories and manufacturers of alcohol interlocks. It defines requirements and test procedures for type testing. Several parameters (for example alcohol concentration or breath volume) are specified in this European Standard for the purpose of type testing according to this standard only. However, it may be necessary due to national regulations or depending on user requests to set the values of the prescribed parameters differently when the alcohol interlocks are in use. This European Standard also applies to alcohol interlocks integrated into other control systems of the vehicle as well as to accessory devices connected to the alcohol interlock.

Alkohol-Interlocks - Prüfverfahren und Anforderungen an das Betriebsverhalten - Teil 2: Geräte mit Mundstück zur Messung des Atemalkohols für den allgemein-präventiven Einsatz

Diese Europäische Norm legt Prüfverfahren und Anforderungen an das Betriebsverhalten für atem-alkohol¬gesteuerte Alkohol-Interlocks fest, die ein Mundstück haben. Sie behandelt Alkohol-Interlocks, die für den allgemein-präventiven Einsatz vorgesehen sind. Diese Europäische Norm richtet sich an Prüflaboratorien und Hersteller von Alkohol-Interlocks. Sie legt Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren für die Typprüfung fest. Einzelne Parameter (wie zum Beispiel Alkoholkonzentration oder Atemvolumen) sind in dieser Europäischen Norm nur für den Zweck der Typprüfung nach dieser Norm festgelegt. Möglicherweise ist es jedoch notwendig, auf Grund von nationalen Vorschriften oder abhängig von Benutzerwünschen die Werte dieser Parameter für den Einsatz der Alkohol-Interlocks abweichend festzulegen. Diese Europäische Norm gilt auch für Alkohol-Interlocks, die in andere Steuersysteme des Fahrzeugs integriert sind, als auch für mit dem Alkohol-Interlock verbundene Zusatzgeräte. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für –   Alkohol-Interlocks, die für den Einsatz in Verkehrssicherheitsprogrammen für Trunkenheitsfahrer vorgesehen sind (siehe EN 50436-1), –   Geräte, die die Alkoholkonzentration in der Innenraumluft des Fahrzeugs messen, –   Alkohol-Interlocks, die kein Mundstück besitzen, –   Installationsverfahren und Verbindungen zum Fahrzeug.
