F40 - Declarable Substances in Materials
Committee F40 is responsible for development of standards for 1) the evaluation of materials and products relative to restricted hazardous substances and current and possible future substances of interest (RoHS, REACH and similar), especially as regulated by responsible authorities, and 2) the evaluation of rare earth elements in raw materials and finished products. The Committee encourages research in these fields and sponsors symposia, workshops, and publications to facilitate the development of such standards. The Committee promotes liaison with other ASTM international Committees and other organizations with mutual interests.
