This document applies only to decorative fireplaces that have been manufactured for domestic use, which produce a flame using liquid alcohol, hereafter referred to as fuel.
NOTE 1: The requirements outlined in this document be applied even outside domestic settings. In that case additional or different rules on the use of the fireplaces may apply.
This document applies to free-standing, wall-mounted and built-in fireplaces.
This document applies to decorative fireplaces that require manual user interaction for ignition, filling, re-filling or extinguishing the fireplace.
NOTE 2: The fireplaces can contain some electric or electronic components.
This document applies to fireplaces ready for use, whose fuel box is of one unit or are an integral component of the fireplaces but not for fireplaces with a fuel tank separate from the fireplace.
This document does not apply to fireplaces specifically designed for heating food or keeping food warm (rechauds), nor does it apply to fireplaces for use in boats, caravans, other vehicles or outdoor areas.
This document does not apply to fireplaces with a power output higher than 4.5 kW or with a defined heating function.
NOTE 3: National regulation can restrict the power output to less than 4,5 kW.

Dieses Dokument gilt nur für dekorative Feuerstätten für die Nutzung im privaten Haushaltsbereich hergestellt wurden, die unter Verwendung eines auf Alkohol basierenden flüssigen Brennstoffes eine Flamme erzeugen.
ANMERKUNG 1 Die Anforderungen können auch bei Anwendung außerhalb des privaten Haushaltbereiches zutreffen. In diesem Fall können weiterführende bzw. andere Regelungen auf die Verwendung der Feuerstätten zutreffen.
Dieses Dokument gilt für freistehende, Wand- und Einbaugeräte.
Dieses Dokument gilt für dekorative Feuerstätten, die einen Benutzer zum Anzünden, Befüllen, Nachfüllen oder zum Verlöschen der Feuerstätte benötigen.
ANMERKUNG 2 Die Feuerstätte kann einige elektrische oder elektronische Bauteile enthalten.
Dieses Dokument gilt für verwendungsfertige Feuerstätten, deren Brennstoffkammer aus einer Einheit besteht oder ein integraler Bestandteil der Feuerstätte ist. Sie gilt nicht für Feuerstätten mit einem von der Feuerstätte getrennten Brennstofftank.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Feuerstätten die speziell zum Erwärmen oder Warmhalten von Speisen (Rechauds), sowie für Feuerstätten zur Verwendung in Booten, Wohnwagen, sonstigen Fahrzeugen oder im Außenbereich gedacht sind.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Feuerstätten mit einer Heizleistung über 4,5 kW oder mit einer definierten Heizfunktion.

Le présent document s’applique uniquement aux foyers décoratifs destinés à un usage domestique et produisant une flamme à partir d’alcool liquide (appelé ci-après « combustible »).
NOTE 1 Les exigences détaillées dans le présent document sont également applicables à l’usage domestique de ces foyers en espace extérieur. Dans ce cas, des règles supplémentaires ou différentes pour leur utilisation peuvent s’appliquer.
Le présent document concerne les foyers autoportants, les foyers à fixation murale ainsi que les foyers intégrés.
Le présent document s’applique aux foyers décoratifs exigeant l’intervention manuelle d’un utilisateur pour les allumer, les remplir, les reremplir ou les éteindre.
NOTE 2 Ces foyers peuvent comprendre des composants électriques ou électroniques.
Le présent document s’applique aux foyers prêts à l’emploi, dont le bloc de combustion est d’un seul tenant ou fait partie intégrante du foyer. Il ne s’applique toutefois pas aux foyers équipés d’un réservoir de combustible indépendant.
Le présent document ne s’applique pas aux foyers destinés à cuire la nourriture ou à la maintenir au chaud (réchauds), ni aux foyers destinés à être utilisés à bord de bateaux, de caravanes et autres véhicules, ou dans des espaces extérieurs.
Le présent document ne s’applique pas aux foyers d’une puissance supérieure à 4,5 kW ou assurant une fonction de chauffage définie.
NOTE 3 La législation nationale peut limiter la puissance à moins de 4,5 kW.
