Adhesives for load-bearing timber structures - Test methods - Part 6: Determination of the minimum pressing time under referenced conditions

This European Standard specifies a method of determining the minimum pressing time for two glue line thicknesses, close contact glue line and 0,3 mm thick glue line (for gap filling adhesive 1,0 mm), at three temperatures. It is applicable to adhesives used in load- bearing timber structures.
This European Standard is only intended for obtaining a reliable base of comparison of pressing time between adhesives. The method gives results that cannot be applied to the safe manufacture of timber structures without modifications for the influences of timber density/absorbency, moisture content, factory temperature and relative air humidity.

Klebstoffe für tragende Holzbauteile - Prüfverfahren - Teil 6: Bestimmung der Mindestpresszeit bei Referenzbedingungen

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Mindestpresszeit für zwei Klebstoff-fugendicken, d. h. eine dünne Klebstofffuge und eine 0,3 mm dicke Klebstofffuge (1,0 mm bei fugenfüllenden Klebstoffen), bei drei Temperaturen fest. Sie gilt für Klebstoffe für tragende Holzbauteile.
Diese Europäische Norm dient nur dazu, die Mindestpresszeiten von Klebstoffen auf einer zuverlässigen Grundlage zu vergleichen. Die nach diesem Verfahren erhaltenen Ergebnisse können nicht unverändert für die zuverlässige Herstellung von Holzbauteilen verwendet werden, ohne die Einflüsse von Rohdichte und Absorptionsvermögen des Holzes, Feuchtegehalt, Verarbeitungstemperatur und relativer Luftfeuchte zu berücksichtigen.

Adhésifs pour structures portantes en bois - Méthodes d'essai - Partie 6: Détermination du temps de serrage minimum dans des conditions de référence

La présente Norme européenne décrit une méthode permettant de déterminer le temps de serrage minimum pour deux épaisseurs de joint de colle, joint de colle mince et joint de colle épais de 0,3 mm (1,0 mm pour un adhésif de remplissage d'intervalles), à trois températures. Elle s'applique aux adhésifs utilisés dans les structures portantes en bois.
L'objectif de la présente Norme européenne est uniquement d'obtenir une base fiable afin de pouvoir comparer le temps de serrage des adhésifs. Cette méthode fournit des résultats qui ne sont pas applicables sans risque à la fabrication de structures en bois, sans des modifications prenant en compte l'influence de la masse volumique du bois et de son pouvoir d'absorption, de sa teneur en humidité ainsi que de la température et de l'humidité relative de l'air dans l'usine.

Lepila za nosilne lesene konstrukcije - Preskusne metode - 6. del: Določanje najkrajšega časa stiskanja pri referenčnih pogojih

Ta del standarda EN 302 opisuje metodo za določanje najkrajšega časa stiskanja za dve debelini lepljenega stika, tj. za zelo tanek sloj lepljenega stika in lepljeni stik debeline 0,3 mm, pri treh temperaturah. Uporablja se za lepila za nosilne lesene strukture. Ta standard je namenjen le za pridobivanje zanesljive podlage za primerjavo časa stiskanja med lepili. Z metodo se pridobi rezultat, ki ga ni mogoče uporabiti za varno proizvodnjo lesenih struktur brez prilagoditev zaradi vplivov gostote/absorpcije lesa, vsebnosti vlage, tovarniške temperature in relativne vlažnosti zraka.

This document provides guidelines describing the adhesive bonding quality requirements suitable for use by adhesive user-companies utilizing adhesive bonding as a means of fabrication. In particular, the guidelines define various approaches to meeting quality requirements for fabrication and reporting procedures, both in workshops and on site. These guidelines aim to convey the importance of maintaining quality standards in fabrication and reporting procedures, keeping records and thus enabling documentation to provide the basis for risk evaluation of adhesively bonded structures in service and in use.
These guidelines have been prepared such that:
a) they are independent of the type of adhesively bonded structure;
b) they are independent of adhesive user-companies’ and suppliers’ product recommendations;
c) they define the quality requirements for adhesive bonding in terms of fabrication and reporting procedures, both in workshops and on site;
d) they can be used as the basis for risk evaluation of adhesively bonded structures in service and in use;
e) they can be used as a basis for assessing a fabricator's capability to produce adhesively bonded structures fulfilling specified quality requirements when they are detailed in one or more of the following:
—    a contract between the parties involved;
—    an application standard;
—    a regulatory statement.
The guidelines contained within this document can be adopted in full or selectively chosen by the adhesive user to suit the structure concerned. The guidelines provide a flexible framework for the control of adhesive bonding activities in the following cases.
Case 1
The provision of specific requirements for adhesive bonding in contracts that require the adhesive user to have a quality system other than ISO 9001.
Case 2
The provision of specific requirements for adhesive bonding as guidance to an adhesive user developing a quality system.
Case 3
The provision of specific requirements for references in application standards that uses adhesive bonding as part of its requirements or in a contract between relevant parties.
Case 4
The provision of a framework for fabrication and reporting procedures to a quality standard, suitable in particular as a basis for the risk evaluation of adhesively bonded structures.

Such an adhesive meeting the requirements of this document for its type is adequate for use in load-bearing timber products, provided that the bonding process has been carried out according to an appropriate product standard.
