“Appliances and leisure vehicle installations using liquefied petroleum gas and appliances using natural
gas for outdoor use”, the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This document is currently submitted to the CEN Enquiry.
This document has been prepared under a standardization request addressed to CEN by the European
Commission. The Standing Committee of the EFTA States subsequently approves these requests for its
Member States.
For the relationship with EU Legislation, see informative Annex ZA, which is an integral part of this
document.
This document will amend EN 497:2022 as follows:
— exclusion of commercial uses;
— updating of normative references;
— increasing of the wind speed for draught resistance;
— improvement of instructions for installation, assembly, use and maintenance requirements for
ventilation conditions and use of accessories;
— addition of a new Figure 4 describing the apparatus for the draught test;
— addition of an informative Annex E explaining some technical choices retained for this document.

Add the following sentence as the penultimate paragraph:
“This document does not cover appliances for commercial uses.”.
In the third paragraph, insert “with or without enclosure” after “appliances” to read:
“This document covers appliances, with or without enclosure, generally floor standing, fitted with one…”.
2 Modifications to Clause 2, “Normative references”
Replace “EN 125:2010+A1:2015”, “EN 126:2012”, “EN 549:2019” and “EN 1106:2010” in Clause 2 and
throughout the text with the following updated references:
