La présente Norme européenne s'applique aux clapets de fond à pression compensée destinés au chargement et au déchargement par le bas et spécifie les exigences de performance, les dimensions et les essais nécessaires pour vérifier la conformité du dispositif à la présente norme.
L'équipement spécifié dans la présente norme est adapté aux produits pétroliers liquides et autres matières dangereuses de la classe 3 de l'ADR - Accord européen relatif au transport international des marchandises dangereuses par route - (liquides inflammables) dont la tension de vapeur ne dépasse pas 110 kPa à 50 °C (y compris l'essence) et qui n'appartiennent à aucune sous-classification des produits toxiques ou corrosifs.

Overview

EN 13316:2002 (CEN) specifies requirements for the pressure balanced footvalve used in bottom loading and unloading of tanks for transport of dangerous goods. The standard defines performance, dimensions, materials and tests needed to verify compliance for use with flammable liquids (ADR Class 3) with vapour pressure ≤ 110 kPa at 50 °C and petrol, excluding toxic or corrosive sub‑classes. It focuses on the valve that provides primary containment inside the tank and that opens only while externally actuated.

• Materials & electrical: manufacturer must supply materials list for wetted parts; electrical resistance limits specified (≤10^6 Ω between conductive parts and body; bonding to tank ≤10^5 Ω).
• Strainer: provision to accept a strainer to prevent foreign objects from preventing closure.
• Testing: production and type tests required. Tests reference prEN 12266‑1 / EN 12266‑2 for shell tightness, seat tightness, operability and mechanical endurance; sampling per ISO 2859‑1 (AQL 2.5).
