ISO 14272:2016 specifies specimen dimensions and a testing procedure for the cross tension testing of spot and projection welds in overlapping sheets in any metallic material of thickness 0,5 mm to 3 mm, where the welds have a maximum diameter of 7√t (where t is the sheet thickness in mm).
The object of cross tension testing is to determine the tensile force that the test specimen can sustain.

Widerstandsschweißen - Zerstörende Prüfung von Schweißverbindungen - Probenmaße und Verfahren für die Kopfzugprüfung an Widerstandspunkt- und Buckelschweißungen mit geprägten Buckeln (ISO 14272:2016, korrigierte Fassung 2016-09-01)

Diese Internationale Norm legt die Probenmaße und ein Verfahren für die Kopfzugprüfung an Punkt  und Buckelschweißungen an überlappenden Blechen aus beliebigen metallischen Werkstoffen mit einer Blechdicke von 0,5 mm bis 3 mm fest, wobei die Schweißverbindungen einen maximalen Durchmesser von 7√t haben (dabei ist t die Blechdicke in mm).
Das Ziel der Kopfzugprüfung ist die Bestimmung der Zugkraft, die die Probe ertragen kann.

ISO 14272:2016 spécifie les dimensions des éprouvettes et un mode opératoire pour les essais de traction des soudures par résistance par points et par bossages réalisées sur des tôles soudées par recouvrement, dans tout matériau métallique d'une épaisseur de 0,5 mm à 3 mm, où les soudures ont un diamètre maximal de 7√t (où t est l'épaisseur de la tôle, en millimètres).
L'essai de traction sur des éprouvettes en croix vise à déterminer la charge de rupture qu'une éprouvette peut supporter.

Ta mednarodni standard določa mere vzorcev in postopek za križno natezno preskušanje točkovnih in bradavičnih zvarov, v prekrivajočih se slojih, v katerem koli kovinskem materialu debeline 0,5 do 3 mm, pri čemer je največji premer zvarov 7√t (t je debelina sloja v mm).
Cilj križno nateznega preskušanja je določiti natezno silo, ki jo lahko preskusni vzorec prenese.

This document (EN ISO 14272:2016) has been prepared by IIW International Institute of Welding in
collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 121 “Welding and allied processes” the secretariat of
which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2016, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by September 2016.
