This document applies in conjunction with EN 14175-1 to EN 14175-4 and, where appropriate, to EN 14175-6 and specifies supplementary information relevant to vocabulary, safety and performance requirements, type test methods, on-site test methods and marking of the listed special purpose fume cupboards.
NOTE   EN 14175-6 applies for variable air volume fume cupboards. Experience shows that fume cupboards for high heat  load offer much safer working conditions when operated with fixed air volume flow.
This document does not apply for microbiological safety cabinets, recirculatory filtration fume cupboards and fume cupboards for carrying out work on radioactive materials.

Dieses Dokument gilt in Verbindung mit EN 14175-1 bis EN 14175-4 und gegebenenfalls mit EN 14175-6; es legt zusätzliche Angaben zu den oben aufgeführten Sonderabzügen fest, die sich auf Begriffe, Sicherheits- und Leistungsanforderungen, Baumuster- und vor-Ort-Prüfverfahren und die Kennzeichnung beziehen.
ANMERKUNG      EN 14175-6 gilt für Abzüge mit variablem Luftstrom. Die Erfahrung hat gezeigt, dass Abzüge für hohe thermische Lasten viel sicherere Arbeitsbedingungen bieten, wenn sie mit festem Luftvolumenstrom betrieben werden.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für mikrobiologische Sicherheitswerkbänke, Absaugboxen mit Luftrückführung und Radionuklidabzüge.

Sorbonnes - Partie 7: Sorbonnes pour charge thermique et acide élevée

Le présent document s’applique :
-   aux sorbonnes conçues pour une charge thermique élevée ;
-   aux sorbonnes conçues pour une charge thermique élevée associée à la minéralisation chimique ;
-   aux sorbonnes destinées à la manipulation d’acide perchlorique ;
-   aux sorbonnes destinées à la manipulation d’acide fluorhydrique.
Le présent document s’applique conjointement avec les normes EN 14175-1 à EN 14175-4 et, le cas échéant, l’EN 14175-6, et spécifie des informations supplémentaires concernant le vocabulaire, les exigences de sécurité et de performance, les méthodes d’essai de type, les méthodes d’essai sur site et le marquage des sorbonnes à usage spécifique énumérées ci-dessus.
NOTE   L’EN 14175-6 s’applique aux sorbonnes à débit d’air variable. L’expérience montre que les sorbonnes conçues pour une charge thermique élevée offrent des conditions de travail beaucoup plus sûres lorsqu’elles sont utilisées avec un débit d’air fixe.
Le présent document ne s’applique pas aux postes de sécurité microbiologiques, aux sorbonnes à recirculation et aux sorbonnes pour la réalisation des travaux sur des matériaux radioactifs.

EN 14175-7:2012 - "Fume cupboards - Part 7: Fume cupboards for high heat and acidic load" (CEN) provides supplementary safety, performance, testing and marking requirements for special-purpose laboratory fume cupboards used when workflows generate high thermal loads and/or strong acidic vapours. It is intended to be applied together with EN 14175-1 to EN 14175-4 (and, where relevant, EN 14175-6) and excludes microbiological safety cabinets, recirculatory filtration fume cupboards and cupboards for radioactive work.

  • Product manual must include preventative maintenance, heat protection guidance, recommended heating plate placement, and the maximum exhaust air temperature for which performance is guaranteed.
  • Labelling should indicate conformity using the designation "EN 14175-7 High Heat Load".
• Exclusions: does not apply to biological safety cabinets, recirculatory filtration cupboards or cupboards for radioactive operations.
