This European standard covers the equipment to be used to achieve a satisfactory connection between the static installation and a tank transporting dangerous substances for the effective transfer of vapours (vapour recovery). This standard specifies the performance requirements and the critical dimensions of the vapour recovery adaptor fitted to the road tanker and the matching coupler fitted to a hose or to pipework connecting with the static installation. It also specifies the tests necessary to verify the compliance of the equipment with the requirements of this standard.

1 Anwendungsbereich
Diese Europäische Norm behandelt Ausrüstungen, die verwendet werden sollen, um eine einwandfreie
Verbindung zwischen einer ortsfesten Tankanlage und einem Tank, der gefährliche Güter befördert, zur
wirkungsvollen Gasrückführung herzustellen.
In dieser Norm sind die Leistungsanforderungen und die entscheidenden Maße der VKG-Kupplung am
Transporttank und der MKG-Kupplung am Rohrleitungssystem der ortsfesten Tankanlage festgelegt.
Weiterhin sind die Prüfungen festgelegt, mit denen nachgewiesen werden kann, ob die Ausrüstung den
Anforderungen dieser Norm entspricht. Die in dieser Norm beschriebene Ausrüstung ist zum Umfüllen
flüssiger Erdölerzeugnisse und anderer gefährlicher Güter der Klasse 3 des ADR Europäisches Über-einkommen
über die internationale Beförderung gefährlicher Güter auf der Straße (entzündbare flüs-sige
Stoffe) geeignet, deren Dampfdruck bei 50 °C max. 110 kPa beträgt (einschließlich Ottokraftstoff)
und die nicht als giftig oder ätzend eingestuft sind.

La présente norme européenne traite des équipements à utiliser pour assurer un raccordement satisfaisant entre l'installation fixe et un camion-citerne destiné à transporter des matières dangereuses, pour transférer efficacement les vapeurs.
La présente norme spécifie les performances requises et les dimensions essentielles de l'adaptateur pour la récupération des vapeurs monté sur le camion-citerne et du coupleur correspondant monté sur le flexible ou sur le tuyau de raccordement de l'installation fixe. Elle spécifie également les essais à réaliser pour vérifier la conformité des équipements à la présente norme. Les équipements spécifiés par la présente norme conviennent à une utilisation avec des produits pétroliers liquides et autres matières dangereuses de la classe 3 de l'ADR - Accord européen relatif au transport international des marchandises dangereuses par route (liquides inflammables) dont la tension de vapeur ne dépasse pas 110 kPa à 50 °C (y compris l'essence) et qui n'entrent pas dans la sous classification des produits toxiques ou corrosifs.

Page 4EN 13081:2001IntroductionThe European Directive 94/63/EC on Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) emissions lays down the obligation tolimit the emission into the atmosphere of vapour created at the time of loading and unloading of petrol by tanks.To achieve this result, it is necessary to establish a vapour tight path between the transport tank, petrol storagetank, service-station tank, and the vapour recovery unit when conducting loading and unloading operations.The vapour collection adaptor and coupler, subject of this standard, form part of the equipment which ensures thisclosed transfer path by making it possible to connect the vapour system of the tank to that of the fixed installation.SIST EN 13081:2002
