Side curtain ventilation systems - Safety

1.1   General
This document specifies the standardization of side curtain ventilation systems as defined in 3.1. This document specifies the safety aspects and performance. Included are machines that operate using the potential energy stored by the earlier application of human or animal force, such as stretched springs.
This document addresses the following significant hazards associated with side curtain systems:
-   crushing;
-   cutting or severing;
-   drawing-in or trapping;
-   entanglement;
-   shearing;
-   suffocation;
-   electrocution and shock;
-   incorrect design, location or identification of control devices.
1.2   Exclusions
This document does not apply to the following, which are intended for a different use:
-   doors and side curtains when used as doors which are specified in EN 13241:2003+A2:2016;
-   systems inflated by air;
-   screens supplied for the control of fire or smoke;
-   screens that move instantaneously upon the application of human force;
-   side curtains when used to control ventilation conditions in a toxic or explosive environment.
This document is not applicable to side curtain ventilation systems manufactured before the date of its publication.

Lüftungssysteme mit Seitenvorhang - Sicherheit

1.1 Allgemeines
Dieses Dokument legt die Normung für Lüftungssysteme mit Seitenvorhang nach 3.1 fest. Dieses Dokument legt Sicherheitsaspekte und die Leistung fest. Es schließt Maschinen ein, die mittels potenzieller Energie betrieben werden, die nach vorheriger Kraftausübung durch Menschen oder Tiere gespeichert wird, wie z. B. in gespannten Federn.
Dieses Dokument behandelt die folgenden signifikanten Gefährdungen im Zusammenhang mit Seiten-vorhangsystemen:
- Quetschen;
- Schneiden oder Abtrennen;
- Einziehen oder Einklemmen;
- Verfangen;
- Abscheren;
- Erstickung;
- tödlicher Stromschlag und elektrischer Schlag;
- fehlerhafte Konstruktion, Lage oder Kennzeichnung von Steuereinrichtungen.
1.2 Ausschlüsse
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für folgende Einrichtungen, die für einen anderen Verwendungszweck vorgesehen sind:
- Türen und als Türen verwendete Seitenvorhänge nach EN 13241:2003+A2:2016;
- mit Luft gefüllte Systeme;
- Seitenvorhänge für den Brand  oder Rauchschutz;
- Seitenvorhänge, die sich unmittelbar durch Kraftausübung eines Menschen bewegen;
- Seitenvorhänge zur Steuerung von Lüftungsbedingungen in toxischer oder explosiver Umgebung.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Lüftungssysteme mit Seitenvorhang, die vor dem Datum seiner Veröffentlichung hergestellt wurden.

Systèmes de ventilation à rideau latéral - Sécurité

1.1   Généralités
Le présent document précise la normalisation des systèmes de ventilation à rideau latéral tels que définis en 3.1. Il précise les aspects et les performances en matière de sécurité. Il couvre également les machines fonctionnant avec l’énergie potentielle stockée par l’application antérieure d’une force humaine ou animale comme des ressorts tendus.
Le présent document aborde les phénomènes dangereux significatifs suivants associés aux systèmes de rideau latéral :
-   écrasement ;
-   coupure ou sectionnement ;
-   entraînement ou emprisonnement ;
-   happement ;
-   cisaillement ;
-   suffocation ;
-   électrocution et choc ;
-   conception, emplacement ou identification inadaptés des organes de service.
1.2   Exclusions
Le présent document ne s’applique pas aux éléments suivants qui sont prévus pour une autre utilisation :
-   les portes et les rideaux latéraux utilisés en tant que portes et spécifiés dans l’EN 13241:2003+A2:2016 ;
-   les systèmes gonflables à l’air ;
-   les écrans destinés à la maîtrise du feu ou de la fumée ;
-   les rideaux à déplacement instantané sur application d’une force humaine ;
-   les rideaux latéraux pour la maîtrise des conditions de ventilation dans un environnement toxique ou explosif.
Le présent document n’est pas applicable aux systèmes de ventilation à rideau latéral fabriqués avant la date de sa publication.
