Safety requirements for cableway installations designed to carry persons - Ropes - Part 5: Storage, transportation, installation and tensioning
This part of EN 12927 specifies the safety requirements for the storage, transportation, installation and tensioning of ropes for installations for the transportation of passenger by rope.
It also includes the requirements for adjusting, measuring and recording the condition of the rope during and on completion of the installation.
It provides the safety requirements and measures to reduce the effect of hazards to the rope and possible hazards from the rope to persons and equipment during these operations.
It does not apply to installations for the transportation of goods, nor to inclined lifts.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Sicherheitsanforderungen für "Seile - Lagerung, Transport, Einbau und Spannen" der Seilbahnen und Schleppaufzüge des Personenverkehrs fest. Dabei werden die verschiedenen Seilbahn- und Schleppaufzugssyteme und deren Umgebung berücksichtigt. Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen fest für Fertigung, Lagerung, Handhabung, Transport, Einbau, Spannen, Verbindungen und/oder Spleißungeve Ausrichtung, Anfangsmessungen und Prüfungen von Stahlseilen für Seilbahnen.

La présente partie du prEN 12927 spécifie les prescriptions de sécurité relatives au stockage, au transport, a la mise en place et a la mise en tension des câbles des installations de transport a câbles destinées aux personnes.
Elle contient également les prescriptions relatives aux réglages et aux mesures a effectuer sur le câble et aux données a relever pendant et apres son installation.
Elle définit les prescriptions de sécurité et les dispositions a prendre pour réduire les risques d'endommagement du câble et les risques de lésion et de dommage susceptibles d'etre causés par le câble aux personnes et au matériel au cours de ces opérations.
Elle ne s'applique ni aux installations de transport de marchandises, ni aux ascenseurs inclinés.

EN 12927-5:2004 (E) 3 Foreword This document (EN 12927-5:2004) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 242 “Safety requirements for passenger transportation by rope”, the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2005, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by April 2005. This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive(s). EN 12927-5:2004 (E) 5 1 Scope This part of EN 12927 specifies the safety requirements for the storage, transportation, installation and tensioning of ropes for installations for the transportation of passenger by rope.
It also includes the requirements for adjusting, measuring and recording the condition of the rope during and on completion of the installation. It provides the safety requirements and measures to reduce the effect of hazards to the rope and possible hazards from the rope to persons and equipment during these operations.
