Safety requirements for cableway installations designed to carry persons - Ropes - Part 2: Safety factors
This part of EN 12927 specifies the safety requirements applicable for safety factors for steel wire ropes (tensile safety factor, bending ratio and transverse force factors) for installations for passenger transportation by rope. This standard is applicable to the various types of installations and takes into account their environment.
This part of EN 12927 does not apply to brake ropes.
Some requirements concern synthetic ropes.
The requirements relating to the protection of workers are not included in this standard.
It does not apply to ropes for installations used for the transportation of goods, nor to inclined lifts.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Sicherheitsanforderungen an die Sicherheitsfaktoren von Stahldrahtseilen (Zug-Sicherheitsfaktor, Biegeverhältnis und Querkraftfaktoren) der Seilbahnene und Schleppauzüge des Personenverkehrs fest. Diese Norm gilt für die verschiedenen Seilbahn- und Schleppaufzugssystemen und berücksichtigt deren Umgebung. Diese Europäische Norm beinhaltet keine Anforderungen an den Arbeitnehmerschutz. Sie gilt weder für die Seilbahnen und Schleppaufzüge des Güterverkehrs noch für die von Schrägaufzüge.

La présente partie du prEN 12927 spécifie les prescriptions de sécurité applicables aux coefficients de sécurité relatifs aux câbles en fil d'acier (coefficient de sécurité a la traction, rapport d'enroulement et coefficients de forces transversales) pour les installations de transport a câbles destinées aux personnes. La présente norme est applicable aux différents types d'installations et tient compte de leur environnement.
La présente partie du prEN 12927 ne s'applique pas aux câbles freins.
Certaines prescriptions concernent les câbles en fibre synthétique.
Les prescriptions relatives a la protection des travailleurs ne sont pas prévues dans la présente norme.
Elle ne s'applique ni aux câbles des installations de transport des marchandises, ni aux ascenseurs inclinés.

EN 12927-2:2004 (E) 3 Foreword This document (EN 12927-2:2004) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 242 “Safety requirements for passenger transportation by rope”, the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2005, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by April 2005. This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive(s).
