Luminaires - Part 2-20: Particular requirements - Lighting chains

This part of IEC 60598 specifies requirements for lighting chains fitted with series, parallel or a
combination of series/parallel connected light sources for use either indoors or outdoors on
supply voltages not exceeding 250 V.
For combinations where rope lights (also known as sealed lighting chains) are included, see
IEC 60598-2-21.
Lighting chains provided with fixed or detachable attachments e.g. ornamental or decorative,
are considered to be covered by this standard.
For lighting chains fitted with lampholders of the push-in type, the appropriate requirements of
this standard applies.
NOTE 1 A Christmas tree lighting chain is an example of a lighting chain fitted with series or series/parallel
connected lamps. A chain for illuminating ski-tracks or promenades is an example of a lighting chain fitted with
parallel connected lamps.
For lighting chains with non-standardised lamps (e.g. lamps of the push-in type) the lamps are
regarded as a part of the lighting chain and consequently included in the testing.
NOTE 2 For products where the lighting chain is permanently fixed to a frame or pre-lit Christmas tree the relevant
clauses of IEC 60598-2-4 and/or IEC 60598-2-7 can also apply.
NOTE 3 In some countries the term "strings" is used instead of "chains".
NOTE 4 Candlestick luminaries are tested according to IEC 60598-2-4.

L'IEC 60598-2-20:2014 spécifie les exigences applicables aux guirlandes lumineuses munies de sources lumineuses montées en série, en parallèle ou en combinaison série/parallèle pour emploi à l'intérieur ou à l'extérieur, pour des tensions d'alimentation ne dépassant pas 250 V. Pour les combinaisons contenant des cordons lumineux (également appelés guirlandes lumineuses scellées), voir l'IEC 60598-2-21. Cette quatrième édition annule et remplace la troisième édition (2010). Cette édition inclut les modifications techniques majeures suivantes par rapport à l'édition précédente. La principale modification est le retrait des exigences concernant les cordons lumineux (guirlandes lumineuses scellées), ces exigences étant à présent traitées dans l'IEC 60598-2-21.

Ta del standarda IEC 60598 določa zahteve za svetlobne nize, opremljene z zaporedno, vzporedno ali
kombinirano zaporedno/vzporedno vezanimi svetlobnimi viri za notranjo ali zunanjo uporabo z napajalno napetostjo največ 250 V.
Za kombinacije, ki vključujejo viseče svetilke (znane tudi kot zaprti svetlobni nizi), glej standard IEC 60598-2-21.
Ta standard zajema svetlobne nize s priloženimi fiksnimi ali odstranljivimi pritrdili (npr. za okrasne ali dekorativne namene).
Za svetlobne nize s potisnimi okovi za sijalke se uporabljajo ustrezne zahteve tega standarda.
OPOMBA 1: Svetlobni niz za osvetlitev božičnega drevesa je primer svetlobnega niza, opremljenega z zaporedno ali zaporedno/vzporedno vezanimi sijalkami. Niz za osvetlitev smučišč ali sprehajališč je primer svetlobnega niza, opremljenega z vzporedno vezanimi sijalkami.
Za svetlobne nize z nestandardiziranimi sijalkami (npr. potisne sijalke) se sijalke obravnavajo kot del svetlobnega niza in so zato vključene v postopek preskušanja.
OPOMBA 2: Za proizvode, pri katerih je svetlobni niz trajno pritrjen na okvir ali predhodno osvetljeno božično drevo, se lahko uporabljajo tudi ustrezne točke standardov IEC 60598-2-4 in/ali IEC 60598-2-7.
OPOMBA 3: V nekaterih državah se namesto izraza »niz« uporablja izraz »veriga«.
OPOMBA 4: Svečne svetilke so preskušene v skladu s standardom IEC 60598-2-4.
