This part of IEC 60598 specifies requirements for fixed luminaires intended for use in the water, or in contact with the water, in, for example, the basins of swimming pools, fountains, paddling pools, and garden pools, for use with electric light sources.
NOTE Electrical installation rules for swimming pools are given in IEC 60364-7-702.
This document does not cover luminaires not in contact with the water (e.g. mounted behind a glass panel which is separate from the luminaire) or hand-held or portable luminaires.

L'IEC 60598-2-18:2022 spécifie les exigences applicables aux luminaires fixes destinés à être utilisés dans l'eau ou en contact avec l'eau, par exemple dans les bassins des piscines, les fontaines, les pataugeoires et les bassins de jardin, et destinés à être utilisés avec des sources lumineuses électriques.
Cette troisième édition annule et remplace la deuxième édition parue en 1993 et l'Amendement 1:2011. Cette édition constitue une révision technique.
Cette édition inclut les modifications techniques majeures suivantes par rapport à l'édition précédente:

   
1. les références à la Partie 1 ont été mises à jour;

   
2. certains paragraphes ont été renumérotés;

   
3. la norme a été remaniée afin qu'elle s'applique aux lampes à filament et aux sources lumineuses à LED;

   
4. les exigences de marquage ont été mises à jour et le 18.5.3 de l’édition précédente a été supprimé;

   
5. le 18.10.3 de l’édition précédente a été supprimé, car il n'est plus pertinent depuis la mise à jour des exigences applicables aux sections des câbles internes et externes dans la Section 5 de la Partie 1;

   
6. les 18.10.4 et 18.10.5 de l’édition précédente qui ont été renumérotés 18.11.4 et 18.11.5 dans la présente édition ont été adaptés pour permettre l'utilisation d'une variante de câble multiconducteur étanche conforme à l'essai d'étanchéité de l'Annexe D et de l'Annexe E de l'EN 50525-2-21:2011, ou à une norme régionale équivalente;

   
7. en 18.11, (18.10 de l’édition précédente), la section du câblage a été alignée sur la Partie 1;

   
8. en 18.11, (18.10 de l’édition précédente), les types de câbles ont été mis à jour avec d'autres variantes régionales de câbles.

Ta del standarda IEC 60598 določa zahteve za vgrajene svetilke za uporabo z električnimi viri v vodi ali v stiku z vodo, na primer v plavalnih bazenih, vodnjakih, otroških bazenih in vrtnih bazenih.
OPOMBA: Pravila električne inštalacije za plavalne bazene so podana v standardu IEC 60364-7-702.
Ta dokument ne zajema svetilk, ki niso v stiku z vodo (npr. nameščene za stekleno ploščo, ki je ločena od svetilke), ročnih ali prenosnih svetilk.

• latest date by which the document has to be implemented at national (dop) 2023-06-21
level by publication of an identical national standard or by endorsement
• latest date by which the national standards conflicting with the (dow) 2025-09-21
document have to be withdrawn

This document supersedes EN 60598-2-18:1994 and all of its amendments and corrigenda (if any).

FOREWORD
1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote international
co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To this end and
in addition to other activities, IEC publishes International Standards, Technical Specifications, Technical Reports,
Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) and Guides (hereafter referred to as "IEC Publication(s)"). Their
preparation is entrusted to technical committees; any IEC National Committee interested in the subject dealt with

This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous
edition:
a) references to Part 1 have been updated;
b) some subclauses have been renumbered;
c) the standard has been redrafted such that it is applicable to both filament lamps and LED
light sources;
d) marking requirements have been updated and 18.5.3 of the previous edition has been
deleted;
