Glass packaging - Dimensions of neck finishes for aerosol and spray glass containers
This European Standard specifies the critical dimensions of the neck finish of glass aerosol containers with respect to the thorough and tight closing of valves with ferrules defined in EN 14849.
This standard is applicable to a nominal diameter of 11 mm, 13 mm, 15 mm, 17 mm, 18 mm and 20 mm necked aerosol containers with moulded and tubular neck finishes.

Dieses Dokument legt die Maße der Mündungen für Aerosolglasbehälter fest, um einen dichten Abschluss der in EN 14849 definierten Ventile oder Pumpen mit Ventilträgern sicherzustellen.
Es gilt für Glasbehälter mit einem Nenndurchmesser der Mündung von 11 mm, 13 mm, 15 mm, 17 mm, 18 mm und 20 mm für Mündungen bei Hüttenglas und Röhrenglas.
ANMERKUNG Diese Mündungen werden im Allgemeinen als FEA 11, 13, 15, 17, 18 und 20 bezeichnet.

Le présent document spécifie les dimensions de la bague des flacons en verre pour générateurs d’aérosols et pulvérisateurs, en vue d’assurer la fermeture étanche des valves ou des pompes équipées des bagues définies dans l’EN 14849.
Il s’applique aux flacons en verre dont la bague mesure environ 11 mm, 13 mm, 15 mm, 17 mm, 18 mm et 20 mm de diamètre nominal, aussi bien pour les bagues en verre moulé que celles en verre tubulaire.
NOTE Ces bagues sont communément désignées FEA 11, 13, 15, 17, 18 et 20.

Ta evropski standard določa natančne mere vratu steklenih posod za aerosole v zvezi s popolnim in tesnim zapiranjem ventilov s kovinskimi tesnili, opredeljenimi v standardu EN 14849.
Ta standard se uporablja za nazivni premer posod za aerosole z oblikovanim in cevastim vratom 11 mm, 13 mm, 15 mm, 17 mm, 18 mm in 20 mm.

This document (EN 14854:2021) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 261 “Packaging”,
the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2022, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by May 2022.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN 14854:2005.
In comparison with the previous edition, the following technical modifications have been made:
— clear separation of the specifications for tubular glass from those for moulded glass;
— the height of the sealing bead on moulded glass only now has tolerances (and therefore the tolerance
of the flange height is slightly increased);
— the dimension F has been recalculated to be more consistent with the finish geometry (driven by
B max) for both moulded and tubular glass;
— addition of some complementary specifications for moulded glass: distance (G) from the lug to under
flange, minimum height (H min) for a standard skirt and some angles and radii;
— introduction of a nomenclature of the specified dimensions.

1 Scope
This document specifies dimensions of neck finishes for aerosol and spray glass containers, in order to
guarantee tight sealing of valves or pumps with ferrules defined by EN 14849.
It applies to glass containers with a nominal diameter of the neck finish around 11 mm, 13 mm, 15 mm,
17 mm, 18 mm and 20 mm for both moulded and tubular glass neck finishes.
NOTE These neck finishes are commonly called FEA 11, 13, 15, 17, 18 and 20.
