Specifies essential requirements regarding protection against electric shock, including basic protection (protection against direct contact) and fault protection (protection against indirect contact) of persons and livestock. It deals also with the application and co-ordination of these requirements in relation to external influences. Requirements are also given for the application of additional protection in certain cases. Has the status of a group safety publication in accordance with IEC Guide 104.

Obravnava tudi uporabo in usklajevanje teh zahtev glede na zunanje vplive. Podane so tudi zahteve za uporabo dodatne zaščite v določenih primerih. Ta standard ima status publikacije skupinske varnosti v skladu z vodilom 104 Mednarodne elektrotehniške komisije.

NACIONALNI PREDGOVOR
Evropsko dopolnilo HD 60364-4-41:2017/A12:2019 je pripravil tehnični odbor CLC/TC 64 Električne
inštalacije in zaščita pred električnim šokom.
Slovensko dopolnilo SIST HD 60364-4-41:2017/A12:2019 je prevod evropskega dopolnila HD 60364-
4-41:2017/A12:2019. V primeru spora glede besedila slovenskega prevoda v tem dopolnilu je odločilno
izvirno evropsko doplnilo v angleškem jeziku. Slovensko izdajo dopolnila je potrdil tehnični odbor
SIST/TC ELI Nizkonapetostne in komunikacijske električne inštalacije.
Odločitev za privzem tega dopolnila je oktobra 2019 sprejel tehnični odbor SIST/TC ELI
