IEC 60350-2:2017(E) defines methods for measuring the performance of electric hobs for household use. Appliances covered by this document can be built-in or designed to be placed on a work surface. The hob can also be a part of a cooking range. This document does not apply to portable appliances for cooking, grilling and similar functions (see IEC 61817). This document defines the main performance characteristics of hobs which are of interest to the user and specifies methods for measuring these characteristics. This document does not specify a classification or ranking for performance. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) terms and definitions revised and new definitions added (see 3); b) following the new market trend, requirements related to so-called flexible and free induction zones - in this document named as cooking areas - are added; c) specification for standardized and alternative cookware is introduced (see 5.6); d) measurement procedure reflecting a household-like cooking process for measuring the energy consumption is introduced (see Clause 7 and Annex A); e) revision of measurement procedure for determining the accuracy of control (see Clause 8); f) new reproducible measurement procedure for assessing the heat distribution (see Clause 9); g) additional requirements (according to IEC 62301:2011) on how to measure low-power modes.

IEC 60704-2-13:2016 This standard applies to electrical range hoods and other cooking fume extractors for household and similar use intended for filtering the air of a room or for exhausting the air out of a room, including their accessories and their component parts. It also applies to cooking fume extractors with an external fan which may be mounted inside or outside of the room where the range hood is located or a down-draft system that is arranged beside, behind or under the cooking surface. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) change of title, scope and definitions 3.103 and 3.104: the standard is dealing with cooking fume extractors (this covers range hoods and down-draft systems); b) exhaust pipe of down-draft systems specified; c) built-in recirculation-air range hoods with an air outlet device specified; d) Annex AA has been deleted. This publication is to be read in conjunction with IEC 60704-1:2010.

IEC 60350-1:2016 is available as IEC 60350-1:2016 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition. IEC 60350-1:2016 specifies methods for measuring the performance of electric cooking ranges, ovens, steam ovens, and grills for household use. The ovens covered by this standard may be with or without microwave function. Manufacturers should define the primary cooking function of the appliance microwave function or thermal heat. The primary cooking function should be measured with an existing method according to energy consumption. If the primary cooking function is declared in the instruction manual as a microwave function, IEC 60705 is applied for energy consumption measurement. If the primary cooking function is declared as a thermal heat, then IEC 60350-1 is applied for energy consumption measurement. If the primary function is not declared by the manufacturer, the performance of the microwave function and thermal heat should be measured as far as it is possible. This standard defines the main performance characteristics of these appliances which are of interest to the user and specifies methods for measuring these characteristics. This standard does not specify a classification or ranking for performance. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2011. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: - new definitions for "set to off mode" and "set to standby mode" are included in Clause 3; - reference to ISO 80000 regarding rounding; - more exact determination of the mass of the appliances (6.2); - update of the existing 7.3 in order to improve the clarity of procedure; - additional temperature requirement in 7.4.3 to ensure an adequate temperature setting during the energy measurement process; - editorial changes in 7.6.1.3, 7.6.2.1, 7.6.2.2 and 7.6.2.3; - revision of Clause 8 in order to increase the repeatability for the measurements for steam ovens; - Clause 12 "Standby power" is renamed to "Consumption measurement of low power modes" and the content is adapted for IEC 62301:2011; - replacing the supplier for the colouring measurement device in Clause C.6, because the previous device is no longer available; - adaptation of Annex A to the new supplier of colouring measurement devices; - adaptation of Annex E; - measurement method for measuring the consumption of the cooling down period is added in the informative, new Annex G; - measurement method to check applied microwave energy during the measurement according to 7.4 is added in the informative Annex H; - new Annex I for marking the temperature setting for checking the oven temperature.

IEC 60704-2-10:2011 applies to electric cooking ranges, ovens, grills, microwave ovens and any combination of these for household and similar use. This standard does not apply to appliances or parts of appliances that use gas energy. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2004 and constitutes a technical revision. Compared to the first edition (2004) of this Part 2-10, this second edition doesn't contain the description of an appropriate test enclosure which has now been incorporated in Part 1. This publication is to be read in conjunction with  IEC 60704-1:2010.

This document deals also with down-draft systems arranged beside, behind or under the cooking appliance. This document does not specify a classification or ranking for performance. This document does not deal with safety requirements that are in accordance with IEC 60335-1 and IEC 60335-2-31. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 1997, Amendment 1:2005 and Amendment 2:2010. This edition constitutes a technical revision. IEC 60705:2010 applies to microwave ovens for household use. It also applies to combination microwave ovens. This standard defines the main performance characteristics of household microwave ovens which are of interest to the user, and it specifies methods for measuring these characteristics. This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition published in 1999, its amendment 1 (2004) and its amendment 2 (2006), and constitutes a technical revision. The main changes from the previous edition are as follows: - the definition of rounding is given in 3.5; - the usable volume and the overall volume are respectively determined in 7.2 and 7.3.

This Part 2-13 supplements or modifies the corresponding clauses in IEC 60704-1, so as to establish the test code for range hoods. When a particular subclause of Part 1 is not mentioned in this Part 2-13, that subclause is applicable as far as reasonable. Where this standard states 'addition', 'modification' or 'replacement', the relevant requirements, test specifications or explanatory matter in Part 1 is to be adapted accordingly. Subclauses, tables and figures that are numbered starting from 101 are additional to those in Part 1. Unless notes are in a new subclause or involve notes in Part 1, they are numbered starting from 101, including those in a replaced clause or subclause. Additional annexes are lettered AA, BB, etc.

This European Standard defines methods for measuring the performance of electric cooking ranges, hobs, ovens and grills for household use. NOTE 2 This standard does not apply to – microwave ovens (EN 60705), – portable appliances for cooking, grilling and similar functions (EN 61817). This standard defines the main performance characteristics of these appliances which are of interest to the user and specifies methods for measuring these characteristics. NOTE 3 Some of the tests which are specified in this standard are not considered to be reproducible since the results may vary between laboratories. They are therefore intended for comparative testing purposes only. This standard does not specify requirements for performance. NOTE 4 This standard does not deal with safety requirements (EN 60335 2 6 and EN 60335 2 9). NOTE 5 For measurement of energy consumption and time for heating a load (see 8.3), this standard is furthermore not applicable to: – microwave combination ovens; – small cavity ovens; – ovens without adjustable temperature control; – heating functions other than defined in 3.16 to 3.18.

Applies to the methods of determination of airborne acoustical noise emitted by household and similar electrical appliances. These particular requirements apply to electric cooking ranges, ovens, grills, microwave ovens, and any combination of these, for household and similar use. These requirements do not apply to appliances or parts of appliances that use gas energy. Other limitations for use of this test code are given in 1.1.1 of EN 60704-1.

Applies to microwave and combination microwave ovens for heating food and beverages. These appliances may also use thermal cooking means as employed in conventional cooking ovens. They may also incorporate a browning function. It applies to combination microwave ovens when used in the microwave generating mode only. For safety of microwave ovens, see EN 60335-2-25 and EN 60335-2-90.
