Domestic appliances used for drinking water treatment not connected to water supply - Jug water filter systems - Safety and performance requirements, labeling and information to be supplied

This European Standard describes the specifications and test methods for gravity fed devices for conditioning of drinking water that are not connected to the mains water distribution system in buildings, known as jug water filter systems. It also gives instructions for the user manuals, so that the jug water filter system can be used and maintained properly. Jug water filter systems are intended to modify the properties of drinking water only, and are not designed to make non-potable water safe for drinking. The scope of this document does not extend to combination systems that require an electrical power supply such as water heaters and water coolers systems.
NOTE 1   Although jug water filter systems are covered by the widely harmonized food legislation (EU Regulations 178/2002 and 1935/2004), existing national regulations concerning the use and or the characteristics of these products remain in force
NOTE 2   This standard provides no information as to whether the product is used without restriction in any of the Member States of the EU or EFTA.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Spezifikationen und Prüfverfahren für leitungsunabhängige, als Kannen-filtersysteme bekannte, schwerkraftgetriebene Einrichtungen für die Nachbehandlung von Trinkwasser fest. Es legt auch die Mindestanforderungen für die Bedienungsanleitung fest, damit die Kannenfiltersysteme ordnungsgemäß betrieben und gewartet werden können. Kannenfiltersysteme dienen lediglich der Nachbehandlung von Trinkwasser und sind nicht zur Herstellung von Trinkwasser aus nicht trinkbarem Wasser ausgelegt. Der Anwendungsbereich dieses Dokuments erstreckt sich nicht auf Kombinationssysteme, die eine Stromversorgung benötigen, wie z. B. Wassererhitzer oder Wasserkühlungssysteme.
ANMERKUNG 1   Obwohl Kannenfiltersysteme in den Geltungsbereich des weitgehend harmonisierten Lebensmittelrechts (EU Verordnungen 178/2002 und 1935/2004) fallen, sind bestehende nationale Vorschriften für den Betrieb beziehungsweise die Eigenschaften dieser Produkte weiterhin in Kraft.

Le présent document décrit les spécifications et les méthodes d’essai applicables aux dispositifs alimentés par gravité destinés au conditionnement de l’eau potable qui ne sont pas connectés au réseau d’alimentation en eau dans les bâtiments, connus sous le nom de systèmes de carafes filtrantes d’eau. Il donne également des instructions relatives au mode d’emploi, afin que le système de carafe filtrante d’eau puisse être utilisé et entretenu correctement. Les systèmes de carafes filtrantes d'eau sont destinés à modifier les propriétés de l'eau potable seulement et ne sont pas conçus pour rendre potable une eau qui ne le serait pas. Le domaine d’application du présent document ne s’étend pas aux systèmes combinés nécessitant une alimentation électrique telle que des bouilloires et des fontaines à eau.
NOTE 1   Bien que les systèmes de carafes filtrantes d’eau soient couverts par la législation alimentaire harmonisée (Règlements CE n° 178/2002 et 1935/2004), des réglementations nationales existantes concernant l’utilisation et/ou les caractéristiques de ces produits restent en vigueur.

Ta evropski standard opisuje specifikacije in preskusne metode za težnostne naprave za prečiščevanje pitne vode, ki niso povezane z omrežjem za distribucije vode v zgradbah, poznane kot sistemi za vodni filter jug. Podaja tudi navodila za uporabniške priročnike za namene zagotavljanja ustrezne uporabe in vzdrževanja sistema za vodni filter jug. Sistemi za vodni filter jug so namenjeni samo za spreminjanje lastnosti pitne vode in niso zasnovani za pretvarjanje nepitne vode v pitno. Področje uporabe tega dokumenta ne zajema kombinacijskih sistemov, ki zahtevajo električno napajanje, kot so sistemi za ogrevanje vode in vodni hladilniki.
OPOMBA 1:   Čeprav je sistem za vodni filter jug zajet v širše usklajeni zakonodaji o živilih (uredbi EU 178/2002 in 1935/2004), v veljavi ostajajo obstoječi nacionalni predpisi o uporabi in/ali lastnostih teh izdelkov.
