This document specifies the requirements related to dimensional, mechanical, optical and thermal characteristics of thermoplastic films used for covering permanent or temporary greenhouses and walking tunnels and low tunnels used for forcing and semi-forcing vegetable, fruit and flower crops.
Lay-flat perforated cover films are also in the scope of this document.
This specifies a classification for the durability of covering films and the test methods referred to in this document.
This document specifies also test methods for the determination of the chlorine and sulfur contents of films subjected to use.
This document is applicable to thermoplastic covering films used in agriculture and horticulture in Europe, in the thickness range 20 µm up to more than 250 µm, based on polyethylene and/or ethylene copolymers materials, of the following types: non-thermal films, thermal clear films and thermal diffusing films.
This document also defines guidance for installation, use and disposal of covering films. It defines the conventional expected lifetime, as well as rules that allow evaluating the remaining use potential in the event of a failure before the normal end-of-use date.
NOTE These rules allow estimating the residual value of the films. These provisions only apply to the film itself and the damage it has undergone. Any other problem falls within the scope of professional practices and the general terms and conditions of sale.
Kunststoffe - Thermoplastische Abdeckfolien für den Einsatz in der Landwirtschaft und im Gartenbau
Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen an maßliche, mechanische, optische und thermische Eigenschaften von thermoplastischen Folien zur Verwendung als Abdeckung für ständige oder temporäre Gewächshäuser sowie begehbare Tunnel und niedrige Tunnel zur Verfrühung und teilweisen Verfrühung im Gemüse-, Obst- und Blumenanbau fest.
Flachgelegte perforierte Abdeckfolien werden ebenfalls durch den Anwendungsbereich dieses Dokuments Norm abgedeckt.
Dieses Dokument legt eine Klassifikation bezüglich der Beständigkeit von Abdeckfolien und der in diesem Dokument in Bezug genommenen Prüfverfahren fest.
Außerdem legt dieses Dokument auch Prüfverfahren für die Bestimmung des Chlor- und Schwefelgehaltes von gebrauchten Folien fest.
Dieses Dokument gilt für thermoplastische Abdeckfolien auf der Grundlage von Polyethylen- und/oder Ethylen-Copolymer-Werkstoffen mit Dicken von 20 µm bis mehr als 250 µm, die für den Einsatz in der Landwirtschaft und im Gartenbau in Europa bestimmt sind und zu folgenden Arten gehören: nicht-thermische Folien, thermisch klare Folien und thermisch diffuse Folien.
Darüber hinaus legt dieses Dokument Hinweise für den Einsatz, die Anwendung und die Entsorgung von Abdeckfolien fest. Sie legt die üblicherweise erwartete Lebensdauer sowie Regeln fest, die die Bewertung der im Falle eines Versagens noch vor Ablauf der Mindesthaltbarkeitsdauer verbleibenden Nutzbarkeit ermöglicht.
ANMERKUNG Durch diese Regeln kann der Restwert der Folien geschätzt werden. Diese Vorgaben gelten nur für die Folie selbst und den an ihr eingetretenen Schaden. Alle sonstigen Probleme fallen in den Anwendungsbereich der branchenüblichen Praktiken und der allgemeinen Verkaufs- und Lieferbedingungen.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences relatives aux caractéristiques dimensionnelles, mécaniques, optiques et thermiques des films thermoplastiques utilisés pour couvrir les serres et les serres tunnel permanentes et temporaires ainsi que les petits tunnels pour le forçage et le semi-forçage des légumes, des fruits et des fleurs.
Les films de couverture à plat perforés sont aussi dans le domaine d’application du présent document.
Il spécifie une classification pour la durabilité des films de couverture et les méthodes d’essai auxquelles il est fait référence dans le présent document.
Le présent document définit également les méthodes d’essai à utiliser pour la détermination des teneurs en chlore et en soufre des films usagés.
Le présent document est applicable aux films de couverture thermoplastiques utilisés en agriculture et en horticulture en Europe, sur une plage d’épaisseur comprise entre 20 µm et plus de 250 µm, à base de matériaux de polyéthylène et/ou de copolymères d’éthylène, des types suivants : films non thermiques, films transparents thermiques et films diffusants thermiques.
Le présent document définit également des recommandations pour la mise en œuvre, l’utilisation et l’élimination des films de couverture. Il définit la durée de vie attendue conventionnelle, ainsi que les règles qui permettent l’évaluation du potentiel d’utilisation restant en cas de défaut avant la date normale de fin de vie.
NOTE Ces règles permettent d’estimer la valeur résiduelle des films. Ces dispositions ne s’appliquent qu’au film lui-même et aux dégâts qu’il a subis. Tout autre problème tombe dans le domaine d’application des pratiques professionnelles et des conditions générales de vente.

This document will supersede EN 13206:2017+A1:2020.
EN 13206:2017+A1:2020:
— Clause 5 on materials has been added;
— Clauses 10, 11 and 12 on designation, marking and instructions for storage, installation and use of
covering films, respectively, have been modified;
— Clause 13 on the design-for-recycling of end of life of covering films has been added;
— Clause 14 on removal and collection instructions of used silage stretch films has been modified,
referring to prEN 18109 for additional information;
— the normative Annex G has been modified to outline basic guidance for installation, use and
disposal of covering films.
This document has been prepared under a standardization request addressed to CEN by the European
Commission. The Standing Committee of the EFTA States subsequently approves these requests for its
Member States.
