Die Einzahlbewertung nach dieser Internationalen Norm kann verwendet werden, um Anforderungen zu formulieren und um akustische Eigenschaften von schallabsorbierenden Produkten zu beschreiben, die für Routineanwendungen in üblichen Büros, Fluren, Klassenzimmern, Krankenhäusern usw. vorgesehen sind. Die Bewertung ist ungeeignet, wenn die Produkte in einer anspruchsvollen Umgebung eingesetzt werden sollen, die eines sorgfältigen akustischen Entwurfs mittels Fachwissens bedarf. In solchen Fällen sind nur vollständige frequenzabhängige Schallabsorptionswerte geeignet.

1.1 La présente Norme internationale prescrit une méthode permettant de conventir en un indice d'évaluation unique l'ensemble des valeurs de l'indice d'absorption acoustique aux différentes fréquences. En premier lieu, les valeurs de l'indice d'absorption par bandes de tiers d'octave mesurées conformément à l'ISO 354 sont converties en valeurs par bandes d'octave.L'annexe B donne, à titre d'information, une méthode de classement basée sur ces indices.1.2 L'indice d'évaluation unique spécifié dans la présente Norme internationale peut être utilisée pour formuler des exigences et pour décrire les propriétés absorbantes de produits destinés aux bureaux ordinaires, corridors, salles de classe, hôpitaux, etc. L'évaluation n'est pas appropriée lorsque les produits sont destinés à une utilisation dans des environnements qualifiés exigeant une conc 1626eption soignée sur le plan acoustique et faisant appel à une certaine expertise. Dans de tels cas, seul l'ensemble complet des valeurs de l'absorption aux différentes fréquences est satisfaisant.La présente Norme internationale n'est utilisable qu'à condition que les applications couvrent la totalité du domaine de fréquences correspondant à la courbe de référence. Si l'on ne s'intéresse qu'à une partie de ce domaine, il peut être plus approprié de rechercher des produits ayant une bonne absorption dans cette partie seulement. Les indicateurs de forme décrits dans la présente Norme internationale fournissent quelques indications permettant de trouver des produits présentant une bonne efficacité dans un domaine de fréquences restreint alors que leur indice d'évaluation est relativement bas. De tels produits devraient être jugés d'après la courbe d'absorption complète.Dans la présente Norme internationale, la courbe d'évaluation étant limitée vers le bas à la bande d'octave de 250 Hz, l'évaluation n'est pas appropriée au-dessous de cette fréquence. Foreword
IS0 (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide

preparing International Standards is normally carried out through IS0
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which
a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented
