Terminations for steel wire ropes - Safety - Part 3: Ferrules and ferrule-securing
This European Standard deals with the requirements for the ferrule-securing of eyes and endless loops.
It also deals with the requirements for ferrules for the ferrule-securing of eyes and endless loops.
This European Standard applies to the ferrule-securing of eye terminations formed either by a Flemish eye or turn-back eye and covers ferrules made of non alloy carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium and copper.
This European Standard applies to slings and assemblies using steel wire ropes for general lifting applications up to and including 60mm diameter conforming to EN 12385-4, lift ropes conforming to EN 12385-5 and spiral strand ropes conforming to EN 12385-10.
Type testing of ferrule-secured systems and manufacturing quality control requirements are also specified.
This European standard deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to this particular steel wire rope termination when used as intended and under conditions of use which are foreseeable by the manufacturer.
This standard applies to terminations of steel wire ropes with ferrules and ferrule-securing which are manufactured after the date of this publication.
NOTE One design of ferrule-secured turn-back eye termination using an oval aluminium ferule which satisfies the requirements of this European Standard is given for information in annex A.

Diese Europäische Norm behandelt die Anforderungen für das Verpressen von Seilschlaufen und Endlosseilen.
Sie behandelt auch die Anforderungen an die Pressklemmen für das Verpressen von Seilschlaufen und Endlosseilen.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt für das Verpressen von Flämischen Augen und rückgebogenen Seilschlaufen und behandelt Pressklemmen aus unlegiertem Kohlenstoffstahl, nichtrostendem Stahl, Aluminium und Kupfer.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Anschlagseile und Stahldrahtseile mit verpresster Seil-Endverbindung für allgemeine Hebezwecke bis zu einem Durchmesser von 60 mm nach EN 12385 4, aus Aufzugsseilen nach EN 12385 5 und Spiralseilen nach EN 12385 10.
Die Baumusterprüfung des Pressklemmensystems und die Anforderungen an die Qualitätskontrolle bei der Herstellung sind ebenfalls festgelegt.
Diese Europäische Norm behandelt alle wesentlichen Gefährdungen, gefährlichen Situationen und Ereignisse, die für diese besondere Seil-Endverbindung von Bedeutung sind, wenn sie wie vorgesehen und unter Bedingungen, wie sie vom Hersteller als vorhersehbar gelten können, angewendet werden.
Diese Norm gilt für Seil-Endverbindungen mit Pressklemmen und für Verpressungen, die nach dem Erscheinungsdatum hergestellt wurden.
ANMERKUNG Eine Ausführung von verpressten rückgebogenen Seilschlaufen, bei der eine ovale Aluminiumpressklemme verwendet wird und die die Anforderungen dieser Europäischen Norm erfüllt, ist in Anhang A zur Information
angegeben.

La présente Norme européenne traite des prescriptions relatives au manchonnage des boucles manchonnées et des �illets épissés.
Elle traite également des prescriptions relatives aux manchons utilisés pour le manchonnage des boucles et des �illets épissés.
La présente Norme européenne s'applique au manchonnage des terminaisons à boucle formées d'un �il flamand ou d'une boucle manchonnée à brins parallèles et traite des manchons constitués d'acier au carbone, d'acier inoxydable, d'aluminium et de cuivre non alliés.
La présente Norme européenne s'applique aux élingues et assemblages qui utilisent des câbles en acier pour des applications de levage générales jusqu'à et y compris un diamètre de 60 mm conformément à l'EN 12385-4, des câbles pour ascenseurs conformément à l'EN 12385-5 et des câbles spiraloïdaux conformément à l'EN 12385-10.
Des essais de type des systèmes manchonnés et les prescriptions relatives au contrôle de qualité de fabrication sont également spécifiés.
La présente Norme européenne traite de tous les phénomènes dangereux et de toutes les situations et événements dangereux significatifs correspondant à cette terminaison de câble en acier particulière lorsqu'elle est utilisée tel que prévu et dans les conditions d'utilisation prévisibles par le fabricant.
La présente norme s'applique aux terminaisons de câbles en acier à boucles manchonnées fabriquées après sa date de publication.
NOTE Un modèle de terminaison à boucle manchonnée à brins parallèles utilisant un manchon ovale en aluminium satisfaisant aux prescriptions de la présente Norme européenne est donné pour information dans l'Annexe A.
