Battery charging interface for small handheld multimedia devices - Part 1: 2 mm barrel interface

IEC 62637-1:2011 defines a charging interface between small handheld multimedia devices and power-supply accessories, specifically chargers. Devices, which could be based on this standard may vary over time, but have to comply with the limited power available. The interface is a 2 mm barrel type charging interface. The French version of this standard has not been voted upon. This bilingual version (2011-07) replaces the English version.

L'interface est une interface de charge de type cylindrique 2 mm. La version française de cette norme n'a pas été soumise au vote. La présente version bilingue,publiée en 2011-07, correspond à la version anglaise.

Ta del IEC 62637 določa vmesnik polnjenja med majhnimi ročnimi večpredstavnostnimi napravami in dodatki za napajanje, zlasti polnilniki. Naprave, ki lahko temeljijo na tem standardu, se lahko v času spreminjajo, vendar morajo ustrezati omejenemu napajanju, ki je na voljo. Ta vmesnik je 2-milimetrski cevasti vmesnik za polnjenje. Terminals for audio, video and data services and contents, of IEC TC 100, Audio, video and multimedia
systems and equipment, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved by
CENELEC as EN 62637-1 on 2011-05-04.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN and CENELEC shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent
rights.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
