  This document specifies the technical requirements for painting the accommodation interior structured by steel on passenger ships, including ferries, cruise ships and ocean liners. The requirements in this document cover primary surface preparation, protective paint system, secondary surface preparation, inspection and testing. This document is applicable to painting the accommodation interior excluding the floor of passenger ships. It can also be used as a reference for other ships which are not passenger ships but which have accommodation structured by steel.

Introduction
Passenger ships have large accommodation areas, which is a difficult part of the entire passenger ship
construction. It is especially challenging to effectively control the painting process of the accommodation
areas in terms of grinding and dust to avoid polluting.
This document provides technical requirements for the primary surface preparation and paint system of
steel in passenger ship accommodation areas based on corrosion rate and combined with the corrosion
environment of the accommodation areas.
The technology specified in this document requires the division of cold and warm area as the basis. Through
the control of intact workshop primer, a differentiated coating method for the accommodation area can be
established to meet the anti-corrosion requirements of the accommodation area while conforming to the
requirements of ship construction work.
