This document specifies requirements for child seats for cycles, which are intended to be mounted on pedal cycles and electrically power assisted bicycles, in order to transport children with a weight from 9 kg up to 22 kg (approximately 9 months up to 5 years) and who are capable of sitting unaided.
NOTE Some European countries have special legislation for child seats for cycles. Compliance with this document may not meet this legislation.

Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen an Kindersitze für Fahrräder fest, die an Fahrrädern und motorisierten Rädern angebaut werden können für den Transport von Kindern mit einem Gewicht von 9 kg bis 22 kg (ungefähr 9 Monate bis 5 Jahre alt), die ohne Hilfe sitzen können.
ANMERKUNG Einige europäische Länder haben spezielle gesetzliche Vorschriften für Kindersitze für Fahrräder. Eine Erfüllung dieses Dokuments bedeutet nicht automatisch eine Erfüllung solcher Vorschriften.

La présente Norme européenne prescrit les exigences s'appliquant aux sieges pour enfants, destinés a etre montés sur des bicyclettes a pédales ou a moteur électrique, afin de transporter des enfants dont le poids est compris entre 9 kg et 22 kg (âgés d'environ 9 mois a 5 ans) et qui sont capables de se tenir assis tout seuls.
NOTE Certains pays européens disposent d'une législation particuliere relative aux sieges enfants pour bicyclettes. La conformité a la présente norme peut de ce fait ne pas satisfaire a la législation particuliere applicable.
