This document specifies requirements and test methods for joint casing systems for factory made flexible pipe systems with a plastic service pipe in accordance with standard series EN 15632 1 to -3, EN 17878 1 to -3 or EN 17414 1 to -3, as applicable.
Requirements of joint casing systems for EN 15632-4 are not covered by this document, but by EN 489 1.

Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren fest für Mantelrohrverbindungssysteme (zwischen benachbarten werkmäßig hergestellten Rohren und/oder Formstücken und/oder Armaturenbaugruppen) für werkmäßig hergestellte vorgedämmte flexible Rohrsysteme mit einem Kunststoff-Mediumrohr nach entweder der Normenreihe EN 15632 1 [1] bis EN 15632 3 [2], EN 17878 1 [3] bis EN 17878 3 [4], EN 17414 1 [5] bis EN 17414 3 [6] oder CEN/TS 17889 [7].
Es gilt nicht für starre Rohrsysteme nach EN 253 [8].
Die Installation des Rohrsystems nach den oben genannten Systemnormen ist eine Voraussetzung für die Anwendung eines in diesem Dokument festgelegten Mantelrohrverbindungssystems.
Anforderungen an Mantelrohrverbindungssysteme nach EN 15632 4 [9] werden nicht in diesem Dokument behandelt, sondern in EN 489 1 [10].

Le présent document spécifie les exigences et les méthodes d'essai pour les systèmes de protection de l’assemblage (entre tuyaux et/ou raccords et/ou robinets préisolés adjacents manufacturés) pour les systèmes de tuyaux flexibles préisolés manufacturés avec un tube de service en plastique conformément à l'une ou l'autre des séries de normes EN EN 15632-1[1] à EN 15632-3[2] , EN 17878-1[3] à EN 17878- 3[4] , EN 17414-1[5] à EN 17414-3[6] ou CEN/TS 17889[7].
Il ne s'applique pas aux systèmes de tuyaux rigides conformes à l’EN 253[8].
L'installation du système de tuyaux conformément aux normes de système mentionnées ci-dessus est une condition préalable à l'application d'un système de protection de l’assemblage spécifié par le présent document.
Les exigences relatives aux systèmes de protection de l’assemblage pour l’EN 15632-4[9] ne sont pas couvertes par le présent document, mais par l'EN 489-1[10].

This document (prEN 489-2:2025) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 107 "District
heating and cooling systems", the secretariat of which is held by DS.
This document is currently submitted to the CEN Enquiry.
1 Scope
This document spècifiès requirements and test methods for joint casing systems (between adjacent
factory made pipe, and/or fitting and/or valve assemblies) for factory made pre-insulated flèxiblè pipe
systems with a plastic service pipe in accordance with either standard series EN EN 15632-1[1] to EN
15632-3[2] , EN 17878-1[3] to EN 17878-3[4] , EN 17414-1[5] to EN 17414-3[6] or CEN/TS 17889[7].
It does not apply to rigid pipe systems according to EN 253[8].
The installation of the pipe system according to the system standards mentioned above is a precondition
for the application of a joint casing system spècifièd by this document.
Requirements of joint casing systems for EN 15632-4[9] are not covered by this document, but by EN
489-1[10] .
