Pigments and extenders - Methods of dispersion and assessment of dispersibility in plastics - Part 5: Determination by filter pressure value test (ISO 23900-5:2015)

ISO 23900-5:2015 specifies a method of assessing the degree of dispersion of a colorant in a thermoplastic polymer. The method is suitable for testing colorants in the form of colour concentrates in all polymers used for extrusion and melt-spinning processes.

ISO 23900-5:2015 spécifie une méthode permettant d'évaluer le degré de dispersion d'un pigment dans un polymère thermoplastique.
Cette méthode convient pour la mise à l'essai de pigments sous forme de concentrés colorés dans tous les polymères utilisés dans le domaine de l'extrusion et de la fabrication de fibres.
La valeur de pression du filtre (VPF) déterminée conformément à la présente méthode n'est valable que pour l'équipement, les conditions et le polymère d'essai utilisés. La mise en ?uvre de conditions d'essai différentes de celles spécifiées peut conduire à des résultats différents. La méthode de préparation du concentré coloré n'est pas précisée dans la présente partie de l'ISO 23900. Les résultats obtenus avec chacun des pigments ne sont donc comparables que si les concentrés colorés ont été préparés suivant la même méthode.

ISO 23900-5:2015 določa metodo ocenjevanja stopnje disperzije barvila v termoplastičnem polimeru. Metoda je primerna za preskušanje barvil v obliki barvnih koncentratov v vseh polimerih, uporabljenih za postopke iztiskanja in taljenja z vrtenjem.

The text of ISO 23900-5:2015 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 256 "Pigments,
dyestuffs and extenders” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken
over as EN ISO 23900-5:2018 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 298 “Pigments and extenders” the
secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2019, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by March 2019.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN 13900-5:2005.
According to the CEN-CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the

Foreword
