Initially the standard was not supporting the 94/25/EC Directive but with the amendment (2003/44/EC) the standard has to be amended and must include an annex ZB which will be provided by the CEN Consultant (2003/09/24) (TL)

Diese Internationale Norm legt die Bedingungen für reproduzierbare und vergleichbare Messungen des maximalen Schalldruckpegels fest, der während der Vorbeifahrt von motorgetriebenen Sportbooten von bis zu 24 m Länge erzeugt wird. Eingeschlossen sind Boote mit Einbaumotor, Boote mit Z-Antrieb, Wasserskooter und Außenbord-motoren. Sie legt darüber hinaus Abnahmeprüfungen mit einem Normboot für Z-Antriebe mit integriertem Auspuff-system und für Außenbordmotoren fest.
In Anhang A ist ein Verfahren beschrieben, nach welchem der Schallexpositionspegel zu messen ist, falls seine Bestimmung zusätzlich zum maximalen Schalldruckpegel gewünscht ist.
ANMERKUNG Für Schallemissionsmessungen an anderen als den oben beschriebenen Booten ist ISO 2922 anzuwenden.
Das in dieser Internationalen Norm beschriebene akustische Messverfahren ist von der Genauigkeitsklasse "Laborverfahren" (Genauigkeitsklasse 2), die in ISO 12001 definiert ist (siehe auch Abschnitt 6).

This amendment A1 modifies the European Standard EN ISO 14509:2000; it was approved by CEN on 2 September 2004.
CEN members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which stipulate the conditions for inclusion of this
amendment into the relevant national standard without any alteration. Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references concerning such
national standards may be obtained on application to the Central Secretariat or to any CEN member.
This amendment exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language made by translation under the
responsibility of a CEN member into its own language and notified to the Central Secretariat has the same status as the official versions.

Relationship between this European Standard and the Essential
Requirements of EU Directive 2003/44/EC
This European standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European
Commission to provide one means of conforming to Essential Requirements of the New
Approach Directive 2003/44/EC.
Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Communities under that
Directive and has been implemented as a national standard in at least one member state,
compliance with the normative clauses of this standard given in Table ZA.1 confers, within the
limits of the scope of this standard, a presumption of conformity with the relevant Essential
Requirements of that Directive and associated EFTA regulations.
