This Technical Specification specifies safety and performance requirements for items of domestic cookware for use on induction heating sources (top of a stove, cooker or hob) and is applicable to all cookware regardless of material or method of manufacture. It covers products intended for use both "on top" and "in oven".
This Technical Specification is complementary to EN 12983-1 and CEN/TS 12983-2.

Diese Technische Spezifikation legt die Sicherheits- und Leistungsanforderungen von Haushaltskochge-schirren zum Gebrauch auf Induktionsheizquellen (auf einem Ofen, Herd oder Kochfeld) fest und ist auf alle Kochgeschirre anzuwenden, unabhängig von Material oder Herstellungsmethode. Sie gilt für Produkte, die für beide Verwendungszwecke auf und im Ofen bestimmt sind.
Diese Technische Spezifikation gilt als Ergänzung zu EN 12983-1 und CEN/TS 12983-2.

La présente Norme européenne, partie de l�EN 12983 spécifie les prescriptions de sécurité et de performance
des articles culinaires à usage domestique pour source de chaleur par induction (cuisinière ou plaque de
cuisson). Elle est applicable à tous les articles culinaires indépendamment du matériau ou de la méthode de
fabrication.
La présente Norme européenne est applicable aux articles destinés à être utilisés à la fois « sur le feu » et
« au four ».
La présente norme complète l�EN 12983-1 et le CEN/TS 12983-2.
NOTE L�aptitude à l�emploi dans les lave-vaisselle automatiques est à l�étude par un groupe de spécialistes et les
exigences seront ajoutées par amendement lorsque le travail sera terminé.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 13 August 2007 for provisional application.
The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to submit their
comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.
CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS available
promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in parallel to the CEN/TS)
until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.
CEN members are the national standards bodies of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland,
